How do you spell hypocrisy?

Eugene Robinson writes for the Washington Post and is a decided liberal.

I'll let John at Verum Serum take it from there:

Back in March of this year, Robinson wrote a column titled "The Hutaree militia and the rising risk of far-right violence." Here's how it began:

The arrests of members of a Michigan-based "Christian" militia group should convince doubters that there is good reason to worry about right-wing, anti-government extremism -- and potential violence -- in the Age of Obama.

Robinson goes on to argue that there is a sharp divide between left-wing fringe groups and groups like the Hutaree on the right:

for the most part, far-left violence in this country has gone the way of the leisure suit and the AMC Gremlin. An anti-globalization movement, including a few window-smashing anarchists, was gaining traction at one point, but it quickly diminished after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. An environmental group and an animal-rights group have been linked with incidents of arson. Beyond those particulars, it is hard to identify any kind of leftist threat.

There's more but that's the gist of it. Now we come to today and Robinson has another column, this time touching on the New Black Panther Party. Here's what he writes:

Before Sherrod, the cause celebre of the "You Must Fear Obama" campaign involved something called the New Black Panther Party. Never heard of it? That's because it's a tiny group that exists mainly in the fevered imaginations of its few members. Also in the alternate reality of Fox News: One of the network's hosts has devoted more than three hours of air time in recent weeks to the grave threat posed by the NBPP. Actually, I suspect that this excess is at least partly an attempt by a relatively obscure anchor to boost her own notoriety.

Notice any difference?

If you didn't notice a difference, I'd suggest strongly that you too are a decided liberal.  But in case you're not, John summarizes things nicely for you at his place.  Read it all and understand why Mr. Robinson has no credibility, no integrity and deserves no respect.

None.

And then bookmark Verum Serum as a regular read.  John and company are consistently on the top of their game.

Let's see... we have the Hutaree Militia (all nine of them), versus the other "fringe" group, the New Black Panther Party - several THOUSAND across the country, sponsored marches with thousands in attendance, have had people like Al Sharpton speak at their events, and at least one of their officials visited the President at the White House.

Yeah, great comparison...

Robinson has always been a left-wing hack. And I've sent him more than 1 email over the years taking his "opinion" pieces apart. He's never bothered to respond.

Jim Addison:

Robinson is the prototypical Affirmative Action hire. Once the liberal but thoughtful William Raspberry retired, WaPo needed to highlight a black columnist to maintain their racial balance - that is, a token black columnist they hoped might gain a following. Raspberry was able to establish himself by good writing and thoughtful essays (even if he usually reached the predictably wrong conclusion).

Robinson is hard-left, a hack writer, but at least he is black.

I believe the difference is because other news outlets actually did investigate and found that the New Black Panther Party has 3 middle aged members.

I have a blood relative who is an anarchist. You know why he quit agitating? Because I think they now see that anarchy may be headed our way and they would be just as well off waiting for the moment and acting out then. And it ain't got nothing to do with the dupe-o-crats.
