Ground Zero Mosque Imam: U.S. is a greater perpetrator of terror

We're to believe the dude's a moderate muslim:

"We tend to forget, in the West, that the United States has more Muslim blood on its hands than al-Qaeda has on its hands of innocent non Muslims..."

"What complicates the discussion, intra-Islamically, is the fact that the West has not been cognizant and has not addressed the issues of its own contribution to much injustice in the Arab and Muslim world." -Feisal Abdul Rauf, 2005

Yea... he's a moderate all right... pretty much like Obama's a moderate... or so they like to tell us.

Notice how he qualifies the non Muslims with 'innocent non-Muslims'? I guess it all depends on your definition of "innocent". But it appears that there is no distinction when it comes to Muslims. He's playing word games.

Even so, it seems he's having trouble remembering something himself. More Muslims have died at the hands of other Muslims than at the hands of the US.

Thank goodness for the internet, cached pages, search engines, etc. It may just save this republic of ours from the insidious weaving of words spoken to one group then changed for the next.
Hopefully, we who have been paying attention are paying even closer attention now, and communicating with our friends and relatives.

I disagree. I didn't really care about this issue until I started learning about Rowlf the Dog there. I'd have looked the other way if this mosque truly was a genuine attempt at building bridges, making nice and all that jazz. Then early on, I started hearing things about support for terrorism and ever since, it's been a downward slide. This guy is scum. He shouldn't be building anything in this country.

Did we deserve 9/11? No. But were we minding our business? No. Were we in bed with dictators and abandon our values and principles? Yes. That causes problems."

I guess Glenn Beck also is a scheming America-hating extremist monster? Yes or no?

Because what he is saying is not fundamentally different from the same guy who is now, apparently, some kind of hidden jihadist.

To be clear: I don't think Beck hates America. And I don't think this guy does either. I think what this shows is that you guys are completely freaking out about this mosque. It is the Freedom Fries of the moment, and it has about as much long-term importance. If that.

It is complicated/ interconnected nuanced world we live in, not that you would notice if you listened only to the far right.

Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin and the other Fox commentators who have absolute contempt for foreign muslim involvement and investment in America, except when it comes to demanding and greedily accepting their own paychecks, have more ties to the proposed community center mosque and it's Iman they lable extremist, than they would like their staunch America first, audience to know.

Fox's second largest shareholder behind Australian Robert Mudoch is Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal, the main benefactor behind The Kingdom Foundation, who owns a $2.3 billion stake in News Corp, the parent company of Fox.

As Rupert Murdoch's New York Post reported last May, the Kingdom Foundation, al-Waleed's personal charity, had donated a total of $305,000 to Muslim Leaders of Tomorrow, a leadership and networking project sponsored jointly by two of the Iman/Rauf organizations, the American Society for Muslim Advancement and the Cordoba Initiative.

So the Fox commentators by increasing audience ratings/ and the profits of one of their bosses are helping to fund what they would call Muslim extremism and Cordoba House. Just think if another news organization were similarly linked to the Cordoba initiative, how much finger-wagging Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin would be doing. Only on Fox and only in America.

in the last five years, I have -- I've gone from a big hawk to not Ron Paul, but on the road to Ron Paul. Part of it is motivated by we can't spend it anymore. The other part, honestly, is I wasn't paying attention before 9/11. I didn't know what the heck was going on in the world. Now, I'm paying attention.

When people said they hate us, well, did we deserve 9/11? No. But were we minding our business? No. Were we in bed with dictators that abandoned or values and principles? Yes. That causes problems.

So, here it is if, I'm king of the world, don't screw with us. And when we fight, we'll fight to win and then come home. No nation-building, no U.N.-building. That's it. Those are my -- that's my policy stuff off the top of my head.

I do not see Beck saying Americans were Killing Muslims.
OBL said the Reason he declared war was American boots on Saudi Soil.

The fact of the matter is that the USA has sent men and women to die in protecting Muslims, Bosnia, Desert Storm, Somalia,
Hell we were stupid enough to support the Muslim rebels in Afghanistan.
We did this after loosing 220 US Marines 18 Navy and 3 Army when we sent them as Peace Keepers Lebanon.
