Obama Administration: America violates human rights

That in a report sent to the UN by our State Department:

Move over Cuba, Iran, North Korea and Syria. The State Department has made it official: The United States violates human rights. In an unprecedented move, the Obama administration submitted a report to the U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights detailing the progress and problems in dealing with human rights issues in this country. The document is a strange combination of left-wing history and White House talking points.

It describes how the United States discriminates against the disabled, homosexuals, women, Native Americans, blacks, Hispanics and those who don't speak English. There is the expected pandering to Muslims, noting that the government is committed to "challenge misperceptions and discriminatory stereotypes, to prevent acts of vandalism and to combat hate crimes," offenses that the American people evidently keep committing. And the current economic woes are blamed on the housing crisis, which itself was the result of "discriminatory lending practices." The implication is that if Americans had only been less racist, they would be enjoying prosperity today.

There's more... lots more... and it's a tad dated, not sure how I missed it.

Clearly this Administration hates America.  Clearly.  It's hope and change to ridicule and get rid of.

I can see November from my back yard.  I can see 2012 too.

Jim Addison:

The left has always hated America: our system, our freedom, our capitalism, our strength, and our basic goodness.

The left has also comprised a steadily increasing percentage of the Democratic Party since the '60s, the process helped along by the McGovern Commission reforms which doled out delegates and power by racial and sexual identity groups, reducing the influence of party workers and elected officials.

The takeover is now virtually complete. The Party is now under the total control of America-hating leftists.

Why don't they all get out and move to Cuba, Venezuela, Iran, etc etc etc? Those places are apparently already perfect. It'd save them a lot of trouble.

Next thing you know, Obama's going to be going to the UN and begging, begging for a chance to turn the country into a garden spot for human rights. All it'll take is him being appointed Chief Administrator of the US, for a 20 year term, with plenipotentiary powers to do whatever needs to be done, without having to go through the terribly faulty and archaic US legal system.

Bush may not have done everything right, but you never got the feeling he hated the US. With Obama - I don't think he even LIKES the US.

To be fair, he has some points.

Consider how the National Parks were used as a way to turn Native American hunting grounds and managed wilderness into recreation for white folk. How Ansel Adams fueled the destruction of tribes by waiting hours until there were no humans where he was going to photograph.

Oh, you didn't know that? Look up the Yosemite model of statist land grabs from aboriginal peoples.

Or how Woodrow Wilson instituted segregation... after it had not been wanted for fifty years... and created internment camps for undesirables.

Isn't it great how obama tars our country as being a violator of human rights to a committee of nations that routinely imprison people for their political views, murder people for being openly homosexual, some of them refuse to allow women property rights, voting rights or even the right to testify in court. Some of those nations will execute a woman for the 'offense' of being raped.

Yet the left is quick to come around to obama's defense by citing things that the US may have done wrong 100 years ago and more.

Nothing like keeping those goal posts a movin'. Too bad the left can't be bothered by real human rights violations going on in the world today. But perhaps the reason they don't care about what goes on in these nations is that they are for the most part populated by brown skinned people.

Geezez, but is this administration sleazy, sneaky, treacherous, cowardly, spiteful, vindictive and and despicable, involving the UN in their dispute with Arizona?

BlueKnight, do you really think it's appropriate to cite events that occurred decades to almost a hundred years ago as a defense of a "current" state of affairs reported to the UN? I guess irony doesn't come across in blog comments.

I wasn't defending the report, I was pointing out that the events I mentioned, true human rights violations of an appalling and criminal nature, were perpetrated by humanists and Leftists.

I should have, for example, mentioned Woodrow Wilson's party affiliation, or the environmentalist movement at the turn of last century which went hand-in-hand with eugenicists and socialists.

In other words, the report is about ninety years too late.

BlueNight:

For you, SPQR, I will clarify:

The time to complain about America's human rights issues should not have been now, at its most equitable and diverse time in history. In my various jobs, I have had supervisors and co-workers who were women and men, gay and straight, Asian, Black, Hispanic, and White. I voted in 1996 for a black Republican for president, because there's no way Alan Keyes could have been a worse President than Bob Dole.

The time to complain should have been during the time Americans accepted the concept of interment camps for entire populations - Native Americans, or people of the same ethnic backgrounds as the nations we fought. Or the eugenics (involuntary sterilization) programs that were popular enough to inspire the Nazis (as they claimed at Nuremberg). Or the resegregation of America that President Woodrow Wilson (Democrat) encouraged (and in the case of the Army, enforced).

At a time when Republicans are applauding the idea of a gay bar across from Ground Zero, this is not the time to complain about America's human rights issues.

Hey Sheriff Joe, make the F... (Below threshold)
Lawrence Baker:

Hey Sheriff Joe, make the Federal Government and the Narco/bankster State of Mexico produce the Treasonous secret trade agreements signed by Bush and Fox and Obama and Calderon.
NAFTA was illegally planned and implemented and was not ratified by Congress and it can not "legally" supersede our Constitution.
The U.S Justice department is part of the Traitor criminal organization of World Banksters and Big Oil who have overthrown, by corruption, our American Independence, Constitution and Freedom.
Not one Bankster was brought to Justice for the world's greatest mortgage fraud (15 trillion), yet the Justice Dept. go after Arizona for enforcing a Federal law that the Feds refuse to enforce.
The illegal and Fascist Federal government wants to implement the secret trade agreement and open the borders to the North American Union. The political appointed Fascist Justice Department is there to deliver for them and crush any state that gets in their way.
The Fascist Federal Government and the Justice Dept is the back door criminals who refuse to honor our American Constitution which they have overthrown; they are the Treason criminals to our Democracy who someday will be brought to real Justice.
Ask yourself why the Narco/bankster state of Mexico has kept the Mexican people down to starvation wages and live in third world poverty when their country is so rich. Cheap slave labor is why.
The Feds is prosecuting and harassing Arizona because Arizona wants to enforce the law that employers verify legal immigration before hiring an employee. The Feds refuse to enforce the laws that are on the books or even collect income tax or employer tax from the employers or the illegal workers. Federal Illegal Immigrants are a freebee for multinational corporations at states expense.
Racial Profiling is a Joke. If a white man stole my car, I wouldn't be looking for a Mexican or a Negro! Get real!
I stand with the Sheriffs and the State of Arizona to fight for our Constitutional Democracy, Independence and Freedom.
It is still legal in Arizona to buy a gun and to join a state militia.
It is a citizen's responsibility to defend our Constitution that embodies our Freedom, Independence and Democracy.
