Helping The SPLC, Update 1

Well, my little project to help the Southern Poverty Law Center clean up their terribly messy and inaccurate "Hate Map" has started to bear fruit. Quite a few commenters chimed in with their own critique of their state's ratings, and Meryl Yourish reported on Virginia. And so far, with just eight states tackled, we've pared their list of 923 down by 115.

I personally feel at least 12.46% safer today than I did yesterday. Thanks, SPLC!

The first round was dedicated mainly to consolidating duplicate listings -- the same group being listed twice, or multiple chapters of a group being listed invididually. Only three listings were actually questioned -- the Feeneyite cultists in New Hampshire, and two stores in South Carolina.

This is a great start, folks, but let's keep digging! Let's expose all those haters out there! With eight states down, that still leaves us 49 42 to go, and there's no reason why you can't double-check someone else's work on your own state!

And if you need more incentive, then how about this:

Let's do it for Dane.

(Details below the fold)

Mississippi: Original total 25, seven duplicates eliminated
New Hampshire: Original total 5, one duplicate eliminated, one questionable listing (same) eliminated
New Jersey: Original total 44, 27 duplicates eliminated
North Carolina: Original total 29, 16 duplicates eliminated
Ohio: Original total 27, 14 duplicates eliminated
South Carolina: Original total 36, 24 duplicates eliminated, two questionable listings eliminated
Virginia: Original total 22, seven duplicates eliminated
West Virginia: Original total 13, five duplicates eliminated

Deciding that different chapters of an hate group should only have one listing per state is bullshit, and I'll call it just another example of how far right wing bloggers will go to apologize for racial hatred in America.

These chapters don't act under one central management. Individual chapters are individual threats and have their own agendas and their own set of actors. They should be listed individually.

You have to be stupid to not notice. You sir, John, must be stupid.

Here -- here's a esx Florida Republican party chairman admitting that the "MANY" on the right are racist.

Former GOP Chief Greer Apologizes to Obama, Says Many in GOP Are Racist

A little more than a year ago, former Republican Party of Florida Chairman Jim Greer made headlines by condemning President Barack Obama's address to the nation's schoolchildren on their first day of school as a "use of taxpayer dollars to indoctrinate America's children to his socialist agenda." Greer, at the time, was under attack from right-wing factions in the GOP for being too centrist, and the statements seemed like a lame attempt to curry favor with the Tea Party. Now Greer has apologized for the remarks and says some Republican Party members are racist.

...

Here's a portion of the written statement Greer released:

"In the year since I issued a prepared statement regarding President Obama speaking to the nation's schoolchildren, I have learned a great deal about the party I so deeply loved and served. Unfortunately, I found that many within the GOP have racist views and I apologize to the President for my opposition to his speech last year and my efforts to placate the extremists who dominate our party today. My children and I look forward to the president's speech."

Wizbang placates the racists too - with posts such as this which attempt to minimize the hate cancer spread by the right and outed so marvelously by the SLPC.

Denying it doesn't make it go away. It's a form of apology - quit apologizing for RACISTS. Quit pretending that each and every one of those hate groups aren't a cancer on our society.

THEY're racist. Reagan was white? HE was racist ... Just apply until all republicans and conservatives are painted the desired shade of Racist. You just can't group facts together and call things as they are, you have to do things the Dane way.

You have to be stupid to assume anything is not racist unless it's a black person or a liberal prespective.

And look - an ex Republican party chairman made a couple comments which can be twisted to paint all conservatives - how handy!

Former toilet bowl turd left over from a flush Dane Apologizes to Obama, Says he Should Have Painted Everyone but Obama As Racist A little more than a year ago, former floating turd in a toilet ('floatie') Dane made headlines by condemning anyone who did not worship President Barack Obama's as their personal god and idol, and the need to "advance truth, which is the socialist agenda." Dane, at the time, was under the influence of malignant influences and the control of left-wing sock puppets allegedly directed from the grave of Saddam Hussein. Dane's statements seemed like a lame attempt to curry favor with Obama. Now Dane has apologized for the remarks and says everyone but him is a racist, unless he says otherwise.

Here's a portion of the written statement Dane released:

"In the year since I issued a prepared statement regarding President Obama as the Lord and God of all thinking and non-racist people, I have learned a great deal about the idol I so deeply loved and served. Unfortunately, I found that everyone but me and a few other people have racist views and I apologize to the President for my failure to condemn them all with venom and spittle - I will be even more extremist and dominate all posts and discussions until everyone agrees that I am correct."

Wizbang cannot cure Dane - no one can, and he does not want to be cured. he loves his own hate cancer and will spread it for as long as he lives. Says Dane:

Quit apologizing and admit you are all RACISTS. Quit pretending that everyone who does not agree with me is a cancer on our society.

Thus is the mind of Dane. Anyone reading this should follow that reading with the flushing of toilets and spraying of air freshener.

No, you're a racist if you hold racist views. Like everybody else, I don't bother to read your drivel-ridden bloviating rants, so I don't know if you're a racist or not.

"I showed where two prominent Republican party officials agreed with me."

No you did not. You cited a couple names, provided no links, and even if you cited Mr. Greer correctly (you did not even bother to say what Steel supposedly said that agrees with you), you took it out of context and applied it broadly to people here with no support beyond your demented paranoia.

"You sir, are left to battle only with your wits."

I have more than that. You, however, obviously lack the wit to do as much as you pretend I do.

"No, you're a racist if you hold racist views."

That's true, but that hardly makes you right. You throw out "racist" at every opportunity without even the first attempt to support the charge. It's a reflex to you, and since you never back it up with either convincing evidence or argument - sorry pal, but repeating an accusation over and over again does not improve its veracity - you are quite obviously unable to prove your case.

Hence, we mock you, having found no man under all the bile.

"All I'm seeing is you going on the personal attack to defend racists and to pretend it isn't a problem in the Republican Party."

Wow, two lies coated with condescension. First off, as I said before, disagreeing with your inane comments in no way 'defends racists' - unlike you, I have been face to face with Klansmen and defied them. I can tell because you treat the KKK with some mystical powers it simply does not have. It's a group rather like the New Black Panthers, another group I have personal experience with, albeit less than the Klan. In both cases these are men with poor intellect and rotten family upbringing, whose whole world revolves around blaming their problems on someone else, usually some group identifiable by its appearance or isolation. And therefore by definition, most mature adults, whether Republican or Democrat, have no use for the inclinations of racists as they are able to interact with all social classes and demographics without the need for scapegoats.

I do wonder though, at your accidental impugning of our President. Imagine if a white Republican had derided a family member who adopted him as a "typical black". I guess you missed that comment by President Unicorn?

"Why do you choose to defend racism and pretend it's not a problem?"

Ia a word, context. I grew up in the 1960s, when some people actually hated and attacked - physically - people of different races, when people were denied work because of their race and crimes were committed targeting specific races. Today's world is not perfect, but today's America is 100 degrees different - not 180 degrees, not perfect, but only an idiot or a complete asshole would pretend things are not much, much better, especially in terms of political representation. Unles of course you're Asian - it's still just fine for a lot of people to be racist against Asians.

Wonder why you never mentioned that, Dane? Should we apply your own logic and say that makes you a racist?

the Dane of Drummond's pathetic existence - lol:

Steele's comments were common knowledge. I'm sure one of the smarter Wizbang bloggers even wrote about it at the time.

See hgow conservatives choose to view the world? They lie to themselves and pretend the thoughts in their head are reality.

Micahel Steele admitted that race was a factor in the criticsim of him and Obama. Look it up, stupid.

And I accurately quoted Republican Party of Florida Chairman Jim Greer when he said:

"In the year since I issued a prepared statement regarding President Obama speaking to the nation's schoolchildren, I have learned a great deal about the party I so deeply loved and served. Unfortunately, I found that many within the GOP have racist views and I apologize to the President for my opposition to his speech last year and my efforts to placate the extremists who dominate our party today. My children and I look forward to the president's speech."

Drummond loses again. He pretends the thoughts inside his head are "real" and chooses to ignore the evidence to the contrary that is open and right before his eyes.

Two prominent Republicans have cited the racism among "Many Republicans". Like so much many of his fellow conservatives, Drummond pretends the earth is flat and racism isn't a problem in the GOP.

And if we just lump all of the skinheads and racists into one group instead of separate chapters - why then we can call SPLC liars!

Never mind that we're lying to ourselves pretending it's all one group and that chapters don't operate independently - that's what Drummond-ites need to do - lie and claim the truth is false and then attack anyone who points out the fallacy of our ranting hatred.

lol. Skin heads must love you, Drummond. Even if you yourself aren't racist - you protect those who are and defend them by pretending they don't exist.

I'll weigh in on this whole... (Below threshold)
George True:

I'll weigh in on this whole supposed "racism" charge from the individual who calls himself Dane. First, I am a lifelong card-carrying Republican. The reasons I self-identified as Republican early on were 1) Fiscal conservatism, and 2) strong national defense. (It is unfortunate that the Republican party has strayed far from these onetime core values, but that is a whole 'nother topic.)

I never heard of this Jim Greer before, and I am equally sure he has never heard of me, or 99% of the rest of registered Republicans. So him claiming to know that some significant to substantial percentage of Republicans are racist is preposterous on its face.

Secondly, the reasons I registered as Republican decades ago and still remain registered today have nothing to do with what race anybody is. It has everything to do with hoping to rein in, in whatever small way that I can, a federal government that has become predatory and rapacious. (The same reasons that the Tea Party movement got started.)

Did you notice, Mr Dane, that none of this has anything remotely to do with race??? For you to insist otherwise, in the face of incontrovertible evidence to the contrary is proof in and of itself that you have an agenda. As such, you will, just like the Journolister members of media, smear anybody as a supposed racist if it furthers your agenda. It doesn't matter in the least that it is a preposterous notion, you will parrot any lie if you perceive that it might further your leftist agenda.

Finally, for you to call me and most other Republicans racists when you have never met me, and you know nothing about me, is a slander so foul and unholy and malevolent, that you forfeit all right to be taken seriously by men and women of good faith and good intention. You sir, have indicted yourself.

I freely acknowledge that I despise Barack Obama, Maxine Waters, Charlie Rangel, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and others of their ilk. All of them are Marxists to one degree or another, and all of them are corrupt to their core and as dishonest as the day is long. These are the reasons I despise them, just as I would despise any white man or woman with those traits.

At the same time, I revere and admire with every fiber of my being men like Colonel Allen West, Dr Thomas Sowell, Dr Walter Williams, Reverend Jesse Lee Peterson, and others of their ilk. In fact, I would follow any of these men into Hell, and consider it a privelige and honer to do so.

So where is the racism, Mr Dane??? I despise white people like Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Chuck Schumer, and Alan Grayson, but I whoud cheerfully die for blacks such as Allen West, or Jesse Lee Peterson. Where's the racism?!?!?! It doesn't exist, and your sad and delusional prognostications to the contrary won't conjure it into existence.

I feel sorry for you, and I will pray for you. You may wish to do some introspection and ask yourself why you have allowed yourself to be counted with a corrupt and hateful ideology that demands that its adherents engage in willful lies, distortions, and slanders in order to further the party line. One other thing: He who pulls the race card IS the racist.

"I never heard of this J... (Below threshold)

"I never heard of this Jim Greer before, and I am equally sure he has never heard of me, or 99% of the rest of registered Republicans. So him claiming to know that some significant to substantial percentage of Republicans are racist is preposterous on its face."

He didn't say "a significant number", he said "many". As the Florida GOP Chair for 4 years I think he's rubbed elbows with a lot of Republicans. He's in a position to know if "many" are racist in the GOP.

"Secondly, the reasons I registered as Republican decades ago and still remain registered today have nothing to do with what race anybody is. It has everything to do with hoping to rein in, in whatever small way that I can, a federal government that has become predatory and rapacious. Sounds like you may not be one of the "many" Greer was referencing. That doesn't mean that he's wrong - the fact that YOU aren't racist doesn't prove him wrong, just puts you apart from the "many" Greer was referencing.

"Did you notice, Mr Dane, that none of this has anything remotely to do with race??? For you to insist otherwise, in the face of incontrovertible evidence to the contrary is proof in and of itself that you have an agenda."

We all have agendas. All I did was quote Greer and point out the National Party Chairman Michael Stelle echoed similar sentiments a while back, citing racism against Obama.

"As such, you will, just like the Journolister members of media, smear anybody as a supposed racist if it furthers your agenda. It doesn't matter in the least that it is a preposterous notion, you will parrot any lie if you perceive that it might further your leftist agenda. "

You've done nothing to prove that it's a lie.

And it's not preposterous. It's been cited by two prominent Republicans. Racist signs appear at teabagger rallies all the time. Skinheads and nazi groups are infiltrating conservative groups.

The group think denial and flat out lying exhibited by right wing blogheads like Drummond proves nothing. In fact, you're probably Drummond's sock puppet. You sound as thick-headed and stupid as Drummond is.

"Finally, for you to call me and most other Republicans racists when you have never met me, and you know nothing about me, is a slander so foul and unholy and malevolent, that you forfeit all right to be taken seriously by men and women of good faith and good intention. You sir, have indicted yourself."

GO jump off a bridge, moron. I've repeated over and over that the claim is that there "many" racists in the Republican Party. I never said you were racist, and I certainly didn't say "most" Republicans are racist.

For you to twist that and now claim what I did was "call me and most other Republicans racists" proves that you're either a moron, and idiot, or are insane.

What part of "Nobody is saying all Republicans are racist, but even Republican party officials are admitting that "many Republicans are racist"." did you not understand? "many" does not equal "most" you moron.

"I feel sorry for you, and I will pray for you."

Shove your bible where the sun don't shine, pal. You run with a crown that includes "many" racists, you vote with "many" racists, and like "many" others here you defend racism by pretending it doesn't exist.

You "enable" racism and then defend it. You're an idiot and I pray that someday the light bulb above your head will go on - but I doubt it will.
