Wizbang's Lorie Byrd has a column up at Townhall today in which she writes about all the conservative women who are running for political office this year because they are concerned about the direction President Obama and the Democrats are taking our country. Lorie says they just might be the ones to save the country. I agree with her. Here's a portion:
Sarah Palin has been an inspiration. Many women watching Palin in the 2008 presidential race saw themselves. They might not be former beauty queens or Alaskan hunters. They have not served as governor of a state. But they saw a woman who came to hold office not by being born into privilege or being a Rhodes scholar, but by working her way up from the local level. They saw a woman who became involved in her community -- starting on a small city council, then as a small town mayor, then as governor. They saw in Palin, unlike some other female politicians, a woman who did not see her femininity as a weakness, but instead embraced it. They saw someone who wasn't a Harvard law school graduate or a policy wonk. They saw a politician who looked at the world from the perspective of a wife and a mother.
They saw the mother of a son serving in the armed forces, a pregnant teenage daughter and a young son with Down syndrome.
Palin's example showed them that life experience and common sense were qualifications to represent their fellow citizens every bit as much as a blue blood pedigree or an Ivy League degree. After all, the people with the law degrees and decades of experience in public office haven't done such a great job of running things lately.
Lorie's article is today's must read of the day for me.

If only we could get the GOP/RNC-smarter-than-thou elites to accept and embrace this fact.

Landslide? Maybe, if Coons gets caught in bed with a dead girl or a live boy or smoking crack on video between now and November.
Rasmussen has Coons up by 11%, a huge deficit for O'Donnell to make up if she can't go on TV and answer questions.
Rasmussen:
The Delaware race is now viewed as Solid Democrat in the Rasmussen Reports Election 2010 Senate Balance of Power rankings.
This marks a remarkable turnaround in a race that at the beginning of the month was rated Solid Republican and was on track to be a GOP pickup. At that time, Congressman Mike Castle led Coons as he had been leading all year. O'Donnell trailed Coons at that time 47% to 36%.
That's what nutso Palin and her sidekick O'Donnell have wrought - the loss of a Republican pickup.

11% is not a "huge" deficit. 11% is a significant deficit. Significant. If you want to see "huge", take a look at the other dem candidates for senate in Ohio and Arkansas, etc.
When you're down by 35%+, that's what I'd call "huge"!!

Comparing Brown and Christie to O'Donnell is like comparing Howard Baker to Curly Howard.
Brown and Christie were and are serious people with intellectual weight and records of accomplishment.
Brown and Christie were able to present themselves to the voters through the usual talkshows, interviews, debates, etc. O'Donnell will have to dodge all of those because the answers to the questions about her lack of employment, source of income, and lawsuit would be highly embarrassing if not devastating.
She's such a joke that she might drag down other Republicans in Delaware.

There is even more duplicity in O'Donell than Lorie and Kim give her credit for she. She not only has doesn't have a Ivy League degree which would destroy her street creed to the GOP and view of the universe that knowledge is dangerous; what is more impressive, she has falsely claimed and advertised in a court of law that she was studying towards a master's degree at Princeton...when she didn't even have a B.A.
It is fortunate to her that she is just an larcenous impostor. She would no longer be so endearing to wingnuts, if she had actually enrolled and studied at an Ivy League MA program, rather than just brazenly lie about it, to impress the credulous.
