We Didn't Start The Fire

Earlier this month, there was a fire in a Houston warehouse. Destroyed in the blaze were the city's voting machines. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and arson has not been ruled out.

This, naturally, sent the Left into a frenzy. OBVIOUSLY it was the Reich-wing Rethuglicans who'd torched the machines to hide the Diebold machinations. (Here's a good example of the hysteria, from TruthOut. (Motto: "Out of truth since 2004, just making shit up since."))

Well, it turns out that there was a bit of hanky-panky going on with voting in Houston... but it wasn't the right playing games. No, it was the heirs to ACORN who had been pulling their customary shit with the voter registration rolls... but with even greater enthusiasm.

What's the problem, you say? What's the harm in bad voter registrations? It's not like it's actual illegal votes or anything.

No, it's not. It's far more insidious and subtle.

First up, flooding the registrars with bogus registrations sucks up their time and resources, so they can't pay as much attention to other parts of their job -- like purging rolls of deceased and moved voters.

Second, flooding the registrars with bogus registrations lays the groundwork for voter fraud. If enough bad registrations are submitted, the odds are pretty good that some will get through -- making it easy for people who want to vote multiple times to simply claim the identities listed on those bogus registrations.

Third, flooding the registrars with bogus registrations sets up challenges to the legitimacy of elections. Every bogus registration that is not "claimed" by a fraudulent voter is listed as a non-voting voter -- driving down the turnout percentage reported. That facilitates challenges that the winner didn't have a "true mandate," and provides evidence that there was "voter suppression" -- a perpetual claim.

Something seriously rotten is happening in Houston. Normally, this would be a clear-cut case for the Justice Department, but they don't seem to have much of an interest in free, fair, open elections lately.

Thank heavens we have groups like True The Vote to do the work that the Obama regime doesn't want to do.

jim m:

The problem is that the left believes that its ideas and views on the world are absolutely, irrefutably correct. These are beyond discussion and the fact that leftist systems of government have failed everywhere else in he world has nothing to do with the correctness of their ideology.

For that reason elections are not exercises in democracy for the left. They are foolish impediments to getting their agenda enacted. Elections therefore need to be subverted so as to ensure the left's victory. Thus we see the increasing levels of violence from the left, the increasing amounts of vote fraud and he increasing legal battles to twist the ballot counting process giving them time to "find" new ballots and disallow those from traditionally right wing voting blocks (the military).

The left no longer believes in democracy. They believe that you should just shut up and do as you are told. They have to pass the bill so you can find out what's in it. Stop asking what they are doing until they do it to you.

We are near the precipice. Either we fix the electoral process and get back to counting real votes and severely penalizing fraud or we will no longer have any say in our government.

Don L:

Voter fraud should be RICO with a minimum 10 years in the pokey -magnified by the number of votes. If coming down from the WH or Congress - automatic impeachment/jail and a treason trial.

Fraudulent elections and intimiidation of voters by the power party can only lead to dangerous responses from a citizery that will not sit still for such crap.

We need to make folks dip the thumb in the ink that lasts for 2 weeks or however long the voting season lasts (thanks to early voting).

Limiting libtards to ONE VOTE ONE PERSON will go a long way in rectifying this problem of voter fraud.

Of course requiring photo id will help too.

I'm starting to think a lot of 'liberals' and 'progressives' are simply children who never really grew up. They want what they want when they want it, they don't think about the ramifications of what they want, and when it goes pear-shaped they're always looking for someone to (a) blame and (b) fix it for them.

And they never learn from their mistakes - because they never MAKE mistakes... at least, as far as they're concerned.

I suspect that if such laws were ever imposed then the large majority of Dems would be in jail, doing what they've always done; getting free meals at the expense of the hard working taxpayers.

"Oh no! we can't use computers to vote the chance of cheating would be too great", usually spoken by Democrats and a clear case of the lady protesting too much. Consider this, on any NFL game this Sunday there will be millions of bets being made, some straight, some parlays, Round robins,of various amounts. When the game is over all monies will be paid, or collected, withint five minutes without any mistakes. So tell me about the inaccuracy of computers.
