Do you want to return to the time when Michelle can't be proud of this country? Perhaps the unease you feel is that sense of pride slipping away.
If you look at the Gallup demographics of the likely voters, you find the self identification has veered sharply to the left (more conservative/less liberal, more identify with GOP/ less identify with dems), but the race/gender/age type identifiers that are fixed (minus certain surgeries pioneered in Denmark) remain the same. So Michelle is having to wrap her mind around the concept that the same people who put Obama into office have now decided they want more GOP in congress. When you are inside the echo chamber, it is pretty hard to imagine that some people might have changed their minds over the last two years. It is even harder to fall back on the idea that people who voted for Obama in 2008 must now be racist if they aren't voting to support the dems in 2010. Even she recognizes that equation doesn't balance somehow.
I'm waiting for Obama to say that if the voters don't return dems as majorities in the house and senate, Obama will resign and move to Canada. Talk about your landslides.

To me, she is implying that there is something wrong with me for not wanting to support her husband. After all, who in their right mind wouldn't want socialism. We sure as hell can't go back to where people have to be accountable for their actions and pay the consequences accordingly - or reap the rewards, for that matter. They would rather that THEY reap the rewards of YOUR good efforts. It's only fair, right? Spread the wealth - everyone is a victim (except you of course).

I think she wants prayers for "clean spirits" in the sense of good quality, pure liquor - as opposed to the Valu-Rite™ Vodka they pass around at AoS . . . that stuff is distilled in old truck radiators, the lead gives an extra kick. She and Barry are likely to need several bottles Election Night, and you know they like the good stuff (especially on our dime).
While you're at it, you could pray for some "clean spirits" for me, too! Nothing fancy, mind you - the premium Smirnoff's or George Dickel would be most satisfactory, thanks.

In an comment made two weeks ago I opined that Vlad Barackula, who is draining away the life-blood of the world's greatest country, compared to real political leaders of recent years, is nothing more than a beer fart in polite company.....and yes, FLOTUS, America has this man and the sooner he is seen off the better and safer for this very dangerous world. The BBC is absolutely all style and no real substance. If I pray for anything in regard to this failed presidency it will be for two things; a). that on 2 Nov the doors of Congress will be flung wide to expell the stench, and b). that mindful of #7 John above I shall especially ask the Creator,who is both Jewish and a Christian..(as well as being an Englishman)....that should he try to make an illegal entry into Canada that he be repatriated to 'Quenya', the better to honour his father's Mau Mau heritage. Or am I being too harsh?
