The Pope will soon be issuing an Encyclical calling upon the faithful to riot in the streets and otherwise cause bedlam... NOT:
Found at Patrick Madrid's place, via New Advent. Madrid writes:
Here's an outrageous story that will likely go unnoticed and unreported by the media. Try to imagine what would happen if a Christian were to perform this same moronic dance in crowded mosque. Do you think he'd leave the building alive? I don't know if this Muslim is deranged or just maliciously trying to insult and provoke Catholics, but either way, he's a jackass, and I hope he's prosecuted for this. May God forgive him.
Well, that basically sums up my feelings, too, except I wonder if the guy is mentally ill.
Either way, this is a moment of dynamic instruction, particularly for those who (like Rosie O' Donnell, Bill Maher and others) would like to perpetuate the idea that Christian fundamentalism and Islamic fundamentalism are comparable in temperament and aggression, and would have you think that a Christian is just a terrorist without a boxcutter and a plane. In the response by the Catholics and other Christians (and even offended non-Christians, like Pamela Geller) somehow I don't think we'll hear anyone screaming about bloody vengeance in the name of God.
Most Catholics will-like Madrid, and scores of Catholics I know-shake their head at that display, pray for that "dancer" and wonder if the altar should be incensed in order to cleanse it from that insult.
What I find most interesting is that a Google search on their news site returns nothing on this currently... nada... zip... zilch... now imagine what you might find in that same search if a Catholic had done something similar in a mosque somewhere... just imagine it.
Then imagine the Muslim reaction.
This will certainly garner criticism in many a circle... and prayer in many more... prayer that this young man will come to know The Truth and be changed by Him.
Amen.

Stand by for Christians rioting and threatening to behead infidels in acts of revenge in 3...2... Oh wait. Sorry wrong religion.
But seriously. At some point there needs to be some way to redress wrongs like these with the broader muslim community. They never stand up against their radical elements in any meaningful way. Even if they do because of their religious/cultural ideas such as Taqiya we have no way of ensuring that they are sincere. Otherwise conflict is certain.
Yes Christians will turn the other cheek. But at some point someone will decide that it is easier to sin and ask forgiveness than to continue to take the abuse from these vulgar muslims.

Those who are not insane themselves see what is probably an unfortunate schizophrenic having a psychotic episode, and not an attack by the global jihad.
Also, the audio of the Italian news video says nothing about the guy being a Muslim, only a Somali. Even though Somalia is nominally a Muslim country, the guy's beliefs and motivation are unknown.
It did say he was sent to a psychiatric ward and is under investigation for revocation of his soggiorno (residence permit).
The psychiatric angle was pretty obvious in the video.

How charitable, break the legs of a mentally ill man dancing somewhere he probably has no idea of, other than it's big and there are a lot of people around.
It's a Christian church. What would Jesus do?

Well, aside from seeing him dancing like a demented street person, the Italian police obviously had more time of observe him than you did and had a suspicion, that's why they sent him to the Psichiatria di Santa Maria Nuova (Psychiatric Ward of the Santa Maria Nuova Hospital).
D'oh!

No, I am not fluent, but I spent enough time in Italy to learn some of the language and there's also Google Translate. The audio on the video said the guy was taken to the Psichiatria de Santa Maria Nuova. Santa Maria Nuova is a hospital in Florence. Psichiatria is pretty obvious.

Galoob, it may be fine for the newspaper to speculate that this idiot may have a specific mental illness. They are not doctors. It also is reasonable for the police to subject him to psychiatric evaluation. That does not mean that he is mentally ill.
Lastly, I would say that he may very well be mentally ill, but that does not necessarily excuse his actions or necessarily mean that he did not know what he was doing.
In many states we have the ability to convict someone with a verdict of "Guilty, but insane" meaning that the individual is guilty, knew what they were doing and is culpable for their actions, yet they are also mentally ill and in need of psychiatric help. That may be the case here. I doubt it.
I have no doubt that he will seek to get out of any legal entanglements by claiming illness. Not that muslims are likely to lie about illnesses to get out of jail. Perhaps you have heard about the Lockerbie bomber?

I stopped using Google, I use Dogpile which uses Yahoo/Bing/Google/Ask. I found that Google would not bring up many Conservative facts and articles. I am certain it is on purpose. Google is in the tank for Obama and company and some of their actions are getting really scary. Such as recording and plotting residential Wi-Fi along with Google street view. Google said it was inadvertant but who believes that. They also were given a no bid contract that was caught by a watchdog group, but they are getting the contract anyway.
