Last week, we floated the notion of Obama engaging in psychological defense mechanism, also known as projection. The topic then was the Obama administration's attacks on the Chamber of Commerce and the accusation that they are taking foreign money.
This week, The Hill reports that the Dems have raised over a million bucks from funds coming largely from PACs affiliated with foreign companies:
Democratic leaders in the House and Senate alleging GOP groups have funneled foreign money into campaign ads have seen their party raise more than $1 million from political action committees affiliated with foreign companies.
House and Senate Democrats have received about $1.02 million this cycle from such PACs, according to an analysis compiled for The Hill by the Center for Responsive Politics....
Republicans with groups under fire from the White House say the hefty campaign contributions illustrate Democratic hypocrisy.
"Barack Obama criticized the Supreme Court and his adversaries over the bogus charge of foreign money tainting elections -- while leaders in his own party had taken more than a million dollars from the foreign cookie jar," said Jonathan Collegio, a spokesman for American Crossroads, the political group at the center of the controversy.
"The hypocrisy here is just stunning," he said.
Not just stunning but rank. And typical from this bunch.
These people are soulless. And they'll do anything to gain and retain power.
They must be defeated.

In many ways I actually welcome these desperate accusations by Democrats and especially Obama in particular. To make it through these difficult times people will have no confidence in a guy like Obama who points fingers at others. I don't think he realizes how much it makes him look like an impotent leader. So I welcome him to flail away. Give it all you got Barry. Get it out of your system now because if the Republicans become a majority in Congress you just might actually have to take some time off and work.

The Dems are way past caring about hypocrisy. They wallow in it every day.

Rick, I'm not exactly sure who you are calling a hypocrite. To hold Obama responsible for what every democratic group does would be like me holding you responsible for what every conservative blogger says. Obama is not affiliated with the democratic PACs and has said that neither democrats or republicans should receive foreign campaign contributions.

Does anyone think it is a good thing that foreign companies are influncing our elections?
Do you guys still support "Citizens United vs. Federal Election Commission"? Remember during his State of the Union Address when Obama said this would happen and Alito responded by saying, "Not true".

You mean foreign money like being able to donate to Obama in 2008 having only a valid credit card number. You could put Osama bin Laden in as the card holder and they took it because they disabled every security feature known to man.
As far as PACs. Lets see. Www.barrackobama.com is a pac and Obama could easily have them stop using his name yet they do so.
As far as holding Obama accountable for what every democrat says. Hey for 8 years if something was done wrong by a republican it was a direct reflection on Bush by liberals and the MSM.
Liberals hate it when the same rules are applied to their actions as they try to apply to others.

Oh BTW Tina
" Obama is not affiliated with the democratic PACs and has said that neither democrats or republicans should receive foreign campaign contributions"
Yet
"Democratic leaders in the House and Senate alleging GOP groups have funneled foreign money into campaign ads have seen their party raise more than $1 million from political action committees affiliated with foreign companies.
House and Senate Democrats have received about $1.02 million this cycle from such PACs, according to an analysis compiled for The Hill by the Center for Responsive Politics"
Now I have see Obama talk about the chamber of commerce and the false accusations against them but he has said SQUAT about dems receiving donations for foreigners.

Retired Military,
Their 2 reasons I can see for Obama criticizing republicans and not democrats.
1. Obama warned that as a result of "Citizens United vs. Federal Election Commission" foreign countries would be influncing our elections. Republicans ridiculed Obama for this and now it turns out to be true.
2. Republicans not democrats are blocking campaign financial reform that would prevent it from happening.

What about all the foreign donations that Obama's campaign accepted during 2008? You say nothing about that.
What about donations from groups like Planned Parenthood who receives federal funding and yet donates to heavily to democrats campaigns?
And again
If Obama were concerned about foreign funds in elections he would criticize EVERYONE who does it. Instead he takes a made up situation like the chamber of commerce with zero proof and doesnt address things as described in the article above with all the proof in the world.
It is like your parents telling you to not smoke while they are puffing away at 4 packs a day.
"The hypocrisy here is just stunning"
Which is exactly what you havent addressed.
