Tim Blair proves what many of us already knew... The Old Gray Lady is now a two-bit tramp:
The New York Times explains why it didn't publish Climategate emails:
The documents appear to have been acquired illegally and contain all manner of private information and statements that were never intended for the public eye, so they won't be posted here.
The New York Times explains why it did publish WikiLeaks documents (that were acquired illegally and contain all manner of private information and statements never intended for the public eye):
The Times believes that the documents serve an important public interest, illuminating the goals, successes, compromises and frustrations of American diplomacy in a way that other accounts cannot match.
Bottom of the bird cage would be a step up for this rag.
H/T to Wheat & Weeds.

Rick, this is called "nuance" amongst progressives.
The rest of us just call it "hypocrisy".

Just substitute public intrest for progressive political interest and you will better understand what they mean.

Notice how the US and foreign governments are going after Wikileaks after they announcecd that they were going to reveal information regarding US banks?
I wonder if the NYT will print those documents or suddenly belive that its NOT in the 'public interest' to publish them?

If the Democrats at the NY Times were even the slightest bit honest they would've said:
About Climategate: "The documents appear to contain all manner of truth and facts that were never intended for the public eye, as they clearly thwart our leftist agenda of achieving a one world Communist government."
About Wilileaks: "The Times believes that the documents serve the primary leftist interest: helping to weaken and ultimately destroy America as it is a major obstacle to the goal the NYT and the rest of the Democrat Party wholeheartedly supports-- achieving a one world Communist government."

During Climategate - nobody read it.
During Wikileaks - nobody read it.
Seems consistent to me.
