Things must be pretty dull in Berkeley if they're looking to honor the a soldier who most likely will be charged with treason. From The Washington Post:
BERKELEY, Calif. -- The Berkeley City Council will consider a resolution that would declare the Army private suspected of leaking classified information to WikiLeaks a hero and call for his release. The council plans a vote Tuesday on the resolution in support of Pfc. Bradley Manning, who is being held in a military brig in Virginia. A city commission already has approved it.
While they're at it maybe they should honor Ft. Hood shooter Nidal Hasan too...

They were running out of ideas on how to make the national news, since every day in Berkeley is already a holiday for Che Guevara, Mumia, the Rosenbergs, Sirhan Sirhan, or Chavez.
Still, it's a pretty lame attempt. Everyone already knows that any enemy of the United States is a hero to Berkeley.

Arrested Wikileaks founder Julian Assange has been honoured in Italy by being featured in a traditional Christmas nativity scene.
