Once a President always a President. The press should always refer to a former President as "Mr President".
Barry wisely leaves rather than allowing his glaring lack of ability to become evident by the comparison.

This is a shocking display of political incompetence. The President must never allow himself to be upstaged, and certainly not by someone who can do so by his very presence. And to think that Obama actually actively enabled his own upstaging. Good God. A high school class president knows better than this.

Uh, did I see this correctly? The current POTUS, namely Barack Obama, just left the stage to allow a former POTUS to field questions on Obama's very own, personally negotiated decision/compromise/policy? I mean, wow! I think BHO just might be breaking apart. Seriously. This is, to coin one of his favorite phrases, unprecedented.

Dear Lord Almighty - this is beyond weak, it's alarming. I genuinely wonder about his mental stability, or if he might be having some sort of breakdown. I don't like the guy but he's still nominally in charge, you can't just bail. Either that or the entire problem is of so little concern to him that he just can't be bothered. But he certainly seems to need some sort of psychological assistance.
I am not at all surprised that Slick Willie took advantage of the situation, put that asshole in front of a microphone and he will drone on forever. He spoke at a National Honor Society banquet when I was in high school and it rambled incoherently for more than an hour.

This would be absolutely hysterical in a movie, if done right. It's a shame Leslie Nielsen died. Can you imagine this scene with him and Will Smith?
In real life? It's not quite so amusing, though it certainly is funny... in the peculiar sense of the word.
Could it be he HAS pretty much bailed on the Presidency? That he considers it trivial and beneath his pay grade? I mean, this is one of the most important issues facing his Presidency - and he's bugging out of a press conference because he's a half-hour late for a PARTY?
He's the President! He decides when the party starts! Er... doesn't he?

What IF Bush (W) Had Done This??? Imagine in a time of, if not crisis, let's say struggle... a rocky patch.... Dubya calls out his Dad.... a healthy Ronald Reagan.... Dick Cheney.... to his presser and then hightails it off to a party, leaving the stand-in to, well, do his job for him.
IMAGINE if Bush had done this! You would NOT hear the end of it. Ever. SNL would do three skits on it this weekend. The late nights would NEVER let it go... ever. The culture would glom onto it, and Bush would be branded for life. For LIFE!
