Last Weekend's Caption Contest™ Winners

Last week's Weekend Caption Contest™ was raging success. The assignment was to caption the following picture:

Obama urged Monday a refocus on scientific research and teaching, as was triggered by the launch of the Soviet's 1957 Sputnik satellite, saying it was key to future US prosperity. (AFP/Saul Loeb)

Here are the winning entries:

1) (guido) - "President Obama bowed and apologized to bacteria today, blaming American pharmaceutical companies for the arrogant eradication of innocent diseases around the world."

2) (iwogisdead) - "President Obama examines his approval rating."

3) (fustian) - "My mandate seems to have shrunk considerably."

4) (Rodney Dill) - "Damn, now he's gonna get a Nobel prize in medicine too."

5) (George Tue) - "Obama continues to diligently search for evidence of jobs created or saved."

6) (Jeff Blogworthy) - "By golly, your right! There is something we haven't taxed! How could we have missed that?"

The Readers Choice Award last week went to guido's winning entry. In its place we offer one more judges favorite:

(sarahconnor2) - "Oh-so that's what a clue looks like."

Thanks! I hate it when I forget to use an apostrophe "re." I'm usually very picky about that stuff. Chalk it up to old age.
