Sic 'Em, Darrell

What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

Newly minted Chairman of the House Oversight Committee, Republican Representative Darrell Issa, is wasting no time declaring his intentions to probe certain actions taken during the reign of the Obama/Pelosi/Reid triumvirate.

Via the Washington Post:

"Issa, who will have power to subpoena government officials to appear before the committee, said he intended to conduct inquiries into the release of classified diplomatic cables by Wikileaks; recalls at the Food and Drug Administration; the role of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac in the foreclosure crisis; the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission's failure to identify the origins of the meltdown; as well as business regulations and alleged corruption in Afghanistan."

Predictably, liberals and their media whores are having conniptions over what's about to slap them in their collective puss.

Commenters from liberal sewers like The Huffington Post and Slate.com are in full defensive mode, comparing these proposed investigations to everything from McCarthy-ite tactics to the tired accusations that Republicans just can't stand having a black man in the White House.

Of course, none of these hypocrites denounced crackpot Democratic Rep. John Conyers when he held his embarrassing version of impeachment hearings during George W. Bush's Presidential tenure.

Nary a peep was heard from these rabid liberals denouncing plans by Democratic Rep. Henry Waxman when, in 2007, he announced his political witch-hunt aimed at the Bush administration:

"Rep. Henry Waxman and the Democratic detectives are back on the case.  That was the message last week from the diminutive, soft-spoken California congressman and his powerful House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, which grilled 29 different witnesses on everything from Iraq reconstruction and military and homeland security contracts to prescription drug pricing.  Waxman says he's focusing on waste, fraud, and abuse, and his committee holds unique subpoena power, so these days, Waxman is one of the most feared representatives in Washington.  "I suppose some have had a free ride for the last six years," he allowed after three hours of questioning, "when Congress wasn't asking some of the questions."

And not to be outdone, reliable loon Democratic Rep. Dennis Kucinich introduced a resolution for impeachment of both President Bush and Vice President Cheney in 2008.

Since Democrats regained Congress in 2006, they have treated it as their own Gestapo, engaging in partisan fishing expeditions, belching up accusatory rhetoric, and practicing abuse of power.

However, karma's a bitch.

It's the Republican's turn now, and Issa is a bloodhound.

There's plenty of stink for him to follow.

Nice turn of phrase, sir. Made me LOL in my office -- which scared the crap out of a bunch of employees, as I normally just scowl and growl.

The rants of McCarthy-ism took less than a day. Wow, that must be a new record for this nauseating and tired piece of rhetoric from the utterly clueless and historically challenged.

Why is Barney Frank "the other white meat", not incarcerated? There is so much corruption up in Barry's shady neighborhood, its hard to know where to start? Oh, I know. Grab some popcorn and enjoy the show.

Jay Guevara:

Ironically, we need McCarthyism, and badly. The VENONA decrypts, in conjunction with the Mitrokhin archive and released KGB files prove unequivocally that McCarthy was absolutely right - the government was infiltrated by communists. (For example, although not accused by McCarthy, search on "Harry Dexter White." He was Assistant Secretary of the Treasury, the lead American negotiator at Bretton Woods, and...as proven by the VENONA decrypts, a Soviet agent. Oops.)

Two of the clowns McCarthy accused of being communists, and conspiring to undermine Nationalist China and throw it to the Reds denied the accusation...then fled to Red China and asked for asylum.

You know, the way any normal patriotic American would when falsely accused.

So bring on McCarthyism!
