You know... this smells funny to me... smells like a leftist plant frankly:
A woman was arrested in the House gallery Thursday after interrupting a reading of the Constitution by yelling out her belief that President Barack Obama is not a natural born citizen of the United States.
When Frank Rep. Pallone (D-N.J.) read the part of Article II, Section 1 mandating that only a "natural-born citizen" may be president, the woman, seated in the front row of the public gallery, screamed "Except Obama, except Obama. Help us Jesus."
An officer removed her from the gallery as she yelled out "My name is Theresa."
"You're under arrest," the officer could be heard telling her as he led her through double doors at the back of the chamber.
The birther issue is no longer worth the time of day. It may've been an issue before Obama was elected, but not now, not 2 years into the man's reign. In fact, those pushing the issue are coming across as... well... loons.
And there's no better way to push that loon meme forward than to yell something like that which this woman yelled at the time she yelled. And to end her stunt with "Help us Jesus".... just a way to paint Christians as loons too. It's essentially a leftist two-fer.
I'd like to find out more about this Theresa woman. And I'd like to know whether she has any ties to moonbat groups.
I, of course, could be wrong. But it's what struck me when I first heard this.
You?

BHO is not a natural born citizen; his father was not an American citizen at the time of his (Barack's) birth. So, if we assume BHO was born in HI, he's still an American citizen, just not a natural born citizen (an American born of parents who are American citizens). My husband isn't either. His father was a legal immigrant from Guatemala who became a citizen after Mr. Right was born.
It's really kind of a moot point right now. What's anyone going to do about it? Does it matter?

My understanding of "natural born citizen" is that it means (according to case law and common law) a person who is a citizen at birth. Unless Obama's father was a foreign diplomat, he was a citizen of the U.S. at the moment of his birth on U.S. soil. This makes him a natural born citizen. As you say though, it's a moot point now.

That quote doesn't address the issue. It's one thing to say "x qualifies as a natural born citizen", but another to say "a natural born citizen is defined as x". Your quote is the former, but it's not an exhaustive list. Or are you suggesting that someone born in the US (as you acknowledge Obama was) to non-citizen parents is not a citizen? In that case, you don't need to worry about anchor babies anymore. And you also contradict the law:
The following shall be nationals and citizens of the United States at birth:
(a) a person born in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof;

Ah, but there's the problem.
Obama is pretty much the only person who can prove definitively that he was born in Hawaii.
Even though this is no longer a story, Obama still will not prove it. (Why?)
Thus, I do not acknowledge Obamna was born in Hawaii due to lack of proof. And the Certificate of Birth released by his propaganda machine is not proof, it is not a Birth Certificate of the type signed by the parents.
If (and it is a very big IF) it turns out Obama was lying (again), there would be a Constitutional crisis of unimaginable proportions.

This comparison is not valid, IMO.
The "vaccines cause autism" was created by a huge media blitz based on a study that turned out to be a lie.
The "birther" movement was created by a lack of information, due in part to a total lack of media coverage of the candidate's background in 2008.
Intriguing though, that if the media had actually done its job (ie, investigative reporting), both groups would be minimized in membership...
