Gifford is a moderate, "blue dog" Democrat. She refused to vote for Pelosi for speaker last week, and is a staunch advocate of border security. One of her constituents was a Kos diarist, and posted this entry last week:
My CongressWOMAN voted against Nancy Pelosi! And is now DEAD to me!

I am from the Tucson area and live in Congresswoman, Gabrielle Giffords' district. I worked like a dog for her elections when she was in the Arizona House, surrounded by rightwing nutcases. When Arizona re-districted in 2002, a seat opened up and she was right smack in the middle of it. So was I because I live in Oro Valley, Arizona, which is at the heart of that - then - new CD. I was one of several people to talk her into running and pledging complete loyalty and pledging to raise as much money as possible for her.
She ended up running for the first time against a fellow AZ House member, Randy Graf who was a rightwing whacko who advocated guns in bars and was the "Russell Pearce before Russell Pearce" vis-a-vis border issues. With a LOT of hard work and plenty of money, Gabby won. Easier than thought, too. I never like to throw money in people's faces, but i have given Gabrielle Giffords THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of dollars in both good times and bad times for me financially.
- BoyBlue's diary :: ::
Fast forward to this election season. A weirdo asshole named Jesse Kelly who advocated ELIMINATING Social Security and was a tea bagger favorite got the GOP nom to run against her. I am gay and had been married and my spouse left me January 15, 2010. I shot myself in the mouth in a serious suicide attempt, because of that. Barely surviving, I spent two months in the hospital and still have some paralysis. I did receive a severance from my employer, as i had been laid off in December, 2009. That may have been part of the reason my spouse left me.
Anyway, after months of physical and mental rehab, I got back into the political scene and started working for Gabby once again. I raised over $100,000 for her and maxed her out myself out of my severance, even though i still don't have work and could not qualify for state aid because of my severance.
She wins her re-election and told me she was still a supporter of Speaker Pelosi at her victory party. We talked about how Nancy Pelosi was a successful woman and accomplished oh so much in just four years as Speaker.
Today, just a little while ago, I saw on Andrea Mitchell Reports (out of the one eye in can still see out of) that Giffords voted AGAINST Nancy Pelosi as our Minority Leader. Rhetorical question: I fought back from my condition and jumped in with both feet to help Gabrielle Giffords for THIS shit???
Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords is dead to me now. I won't lift a finger, make one phone call, nor will i EVER vote for her in the future. And why did she do this? Giffords never told me she was conservative Democrat. And her voting record is okay. Damn.
No link, of course. We're talking about Kos -- embarrassing things get deleted immediately. Nothing to see, nothing going on, never happened, move along, keep toeing the party line.
It's too early for substantive speculation, but the latest reports say 19 people were shot, five fatally, one gunman in custody, and police are looking for a possible second gunman. To me, that says "automatic weapons" and "planned hit." And in that part of the world, that says Mexican drug cartels.
But that's all just speculation. We have no hard facts on motive, or even on the identity of the captured shooter.
Update: here's the Google cache of the original article, complete with comments.
Update 2: Here's the head Kossack, Kos himself: (Courtesy Ace)
Who to primary? Well, I'd argue that we can narrow the target list by looking at those Democrats who sold out the Constitution last week. I've bolded members of the Blue Dogs for added emphasis.Anyone wanna put wagers on how long that one will stay public?
......
- Giffords, Gabrielle (AZ-08)
Not all of these people will get or even deserve primaries, but this vote certainly puts a bulls eye on their district.

Burning the American flag and hating America are certainly leftist activities.

However, the whole posse comitatus thing is more rightish to me.

I call bullshit.
First anyone who does not understand that since 1917 communism has been defined as far left really does not deserve the time taken to correct their ignorance.
Second, antisemitism today is primarily from the left as the darling of the left is the palistinian cause. The left has invested heavily in antisemitism and they continually blast the Christian right for its support of Israel.
Now the left is also very much in favor of open boarders and amnesty for illegal aliens so I would put opposition to those things on the right.
If you cannot understand these things I can only conclude that one of the following is true: 1) you are completely ignorant of politics of the last century, 2) you are an ineducable moron or 3) you are just being obtuse. I'd like to think 3, but experience tells me to expect 1 or 2.

Wrong fascism is government control of corporations for the purpose of controlling economic output and the people. The only difference between fascism and socialism is that fascism allows nominal private ownership of business, but if said business does not follow the party line it is nationalized.
Socialism does not run things for the benefit of the people any more so than one can say that all governments exist for the benefit of the people. Socialism runs things in order to control the people and in most cases to enable the government to dictate the nature of society and how people live their lives.
Go read some history and then go read Jonah Goldberg's Liberal Fascism. Maybe you will learn something.

if that diarist at Daily Kos had any involvement in the shooting, don't you think that he/she would be in custody by now?
BoyBlue is posting comments - are those comments posted from jail?

Boyblue is blaming Jesse Klein supporters for the shooting. His recent post is below.

"I never thought i'd make it into the NYT. Ever. But being a part of her campaign against this odious Jesse Kelly last year, there's NO WAY this thing was NOT from disgruntled supporters of HIS. Kelly's supporters were so rabid and bigoted against Hispanics that even casual volunteers to Gabby's campaign feared them. They attacked my truck cuz i had Giffords paraphernalia all over it when i was trying to leave the October gay pride festival in Tucson. They were there to harass gays. Can you imagine that? his campaign people went to the Tucson gay pride to harass gay people!!!
I guess they just couldn't STAND that he lost. Rabid just ain't the word for it. Obviously. I am STILL sick to my stomach over this (I puked when they mistakenly declared her dead today). I have a picture of her and i at her November victory party and i cannot look at it without crying. Just as a statement, I am putting 2010 Giffords for Congress campaign material all over my new hybrid to show support. I have STILL been told to "fuck myself" by Kelly brownshirts whenever i wear Giffords t-shirts out. To this day!!! CRAZY.
Not a single issue voter, but if I was, gay rights would be it. I just want Democrats to be tough. And I wish Obama were tougher. That's all. I'm a proud gay!

Problem is, there is no evidence the shooter supported Kelly. Boy blue, he's blaming who he wants to be guilty.
there's more evidence that a nutjob thought Giffords wasn't left enough.
but the nutjob aspect is the key, not the politics.
he gets on his high horse about righty blogs jumping to conclusions about his diary getting flushed, then hops in his Prius and tries to do a General Lee to geet to the conclusion he wants.
it can't be insanity. It can't be a far lefty taking out his issues on a shallow lefty... no, its all about the gays to this non-single issue voter.
i think he's no stranger to emotional disturbances himself...
