...That John S. McCain is an out of touch RINO, we have these two stories:
McCain says a 'much more centrist' Obama 'much' easier to work with
By Daniel Strauss - 02/03/11 02:42 PM ET
The president has become more centrist, which makes him easier to work with, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) said Thursday.
Speaking with Bloomberg Television a day after a private meeting with President Obama, McCain said he could picture working with Obama on several issues going forward.
"I think there's a number of issues we could work on together, and I think it's pretty clear that the president has really pivoted to a much more centrist position, which I think makes it much more for us easier to work with him," McCain said.
Which is perfectly offset by this poll from Gallup:
Obama's Approval Ratings More Polarized in Year 2 Than Year 1
Ranks as fourth-most-polarized year for a president since 1953
by Jeffrey M. Jones
PRINCETON, NJ -- President Barack Obama's job approval ratings were even more polarized during his second year in office than during his first, when he registered the most polarized ratings for a first-year president. An average of 81% of Democrats and 13% of Republicans approved of the job Obama was doing as president during his second year. That 68-point gap in party ratings is up from 65 points in his first year and is easily the most polarized second year for a president since Dwight Eisenhower.
We thank you for your service, John McCain, and wish you the very best in your retirement from public life which should have started last month.

I still maintain that McCain would have made a far worse president than Obama. For so, so many reasons.

Nope.
Even John "The RINO" McCain would be a better President of these United States than the current community organizer in chief liberally dusted with Marxist pocket lint.

I believe a McCain Presidency would have been worse only because it would have been touted as bi-partisan. The spending would be the same. The gridlock might have slowed it a bit though.

So if high polarization is bad, low polarization is good.
Yes, then I take it Rodney must be pleased that Jimmy Carter was the least polarized president of any, since 1953.

Crickmore@7 throws the red herring:
I made no commentary whatsoever as to the merits of polarization. I was pointing out that John "The RINO" McCain's evaluation of Barack "Commisar" Obama as '...much more centrist..." is at odds both with demonstrable reality and public perception.
As to his:
I have no doubts that towards the end of his fourth year in office Obama will enjoy the equally low approval of both sides of the aisle that Carter earned for himself and his administration.

The only way Obama has been a better President than McCain is that he helped show the nation how fart to the left the mainstream Democratic party has become. Without him, I don't think Pelosi and Reid could have ridden the Crazy Train nearly as far and fast as they did. And that ride resulted in the HUGE losses in the House and Senate and has certainly weakened the Oval Office leading into 2012.
With McCain, the dems may have kept the House AND had a handy republican scape goat for all of their failed policies and the handful of disasters he may have prevented. Disasters the dems would have touted as the magic bullets the President wouldn't allow them to load.

On behalf of a large number of us here in Arizona, I apologize for sending McCain back to DC. We feverently hope that the rest of the Rep Senators will lock him in the cloak room for the rest of his term, while we search for a real conservative to replace him. He gives a new meaning to the phrase "flip flop". Kinda like putting a Mexican jumping bean in a frying pan.

So, it's now come to light that "John S. McCain is an out of touch". News Flash… John S. McCain has been out of touch for a decade or more. The only explanation as to how McCain became the Republican presidential candidate for 2008 is that Democrats have figured out how to game the primary system. Look for the same in 2012.

Mac Lorry@18,
My headline reads "As If We Needed Any More Proof...That John S. McCain is an out of touch RINO" which suggests (to those with reasonable levels of reading comprehension) that the conclusion that John S. McCain was "an out of touch RINO" had been (or should have been) reached well before this point.
