I'm dead serious, is he?
The Ronald Reagan presidency inspired passionate debate, and the Reagan legacy is doing the same -- now including criticism of Sarah Palin by the Gipper's son.
"Sarah Palin is a soap opera, basically," Ron Reagan Jr. told The Associated Press. "She's doing mostly what she does to make money and keep her name in the news."
Reagan spoke as Palin prepares to keynote tonight's Reagan 100 Opening Banquet sponsored by the Young America's Foundation, which owns the Reagan ranch in Santa Barbara, Cal., and is hosting one of many events celebrating Sunday's centennial of Reagan's birth.
The younger Reagan said he doesn't see any similarities between his father and the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee.
Sarah Palin will be discussing Ronald Reagan this weekend. "She is not a serious candidate for president and never has been," said Reagan, who, it should be noted, is more liberal in his politics than his father was.
I'm glad USA Today let me know that Ron Jr. is more liberal than his father. I look forward to additional reporting on the wetness of water, the blackness of night and hotness of the sun.
Bottom line for me is that Michael Reagan can now add most of the rest of the country to the list of people Ron Reagan Jr. is an embarrassment to.

RR Jr wouldn't get a split second of coverage if he wasn't bashing conservatives.
Media bias comes in many forms. This is one of them.
Side note: Here's the projection from Ron Jr.:

If a movie star is qualified to give environmental testimony before a liberal congressional committee, soley base upon her role in one movie, then RR is qualified, but then we live in a new world where inexperienced street organizers with extremely negative backgrounds (those anti-American and terrorist friends) are said to be qualified for the presidency.

How convenient Reagan Jr. released a book on his father to profit off The Gipper's one hundreth birthday.
He is a d-list celebrity that is desperately trying to hold on to any fame he can. He brings nothing to the table. He has not solutions. He has no incite. He is the complete opposite of his father. ww

I think you're being a bit harsh on Mike Reagan. It's not surprising he released a book on his father to profit off his 100th birthday. His brother Ron did it too.

Not to be a name/celeb dropper, but I have so few and this one is related:
I ran into Reagen Jr. at the Sherwin-Williams store in Ballard (a hamlet in Seattle) back in '06. I quipped to my wife, loud enough so that Jr. could hear, "Apparently apples DO fall far from the tree. And go rotten faster, too."
Mrs. was none too pleased, but it was worth it.

I have never tracked this man's progress in any way since becoming aware of him when the great man died. The only thing that stops me from tuning him out immediately, when hearing his voice, is it's very suspect timbre, leading to the inevitable....is he or is he not, question. Not being one to leave blanks I pointedly ask Wizbangers with definite knowledge, is Ron jr, a poofter? Nothing rude or sinister here, since being 'out' or 'openly so' seems to be a mark of with-it-ness on the part of those so afflicted, the question, therefore, clearly enjoys the same frank innocence. You see, I am still trying to fathom a basis for the so many social peculiarities that make murky the collective identity of the left...what drives their thoughts and attitudes, why they are so sure of intellectual superiority, why they so consistently eschew basic horse sense analysis of the actual workings of a society. And since petulance and gay homosexuality, and the petulance, dishonesty and vindictiveness of social progressivism generally seem so mutually attracted, can it be said that; all liberals are not gay but all gays must be liberals?

Like Megan McCain little Ronnie's only claim to fame is a successful father.
Junior has never been a success on his own and has found what little success he has had in bashing his father. I suppose that it is easy for the son who always disappointed his father to bash that father once he is gone.
Since Junior has no tallent and has no profession the only recourse he has is to drag his father's name through the mud as prfitably as he can. Fortunately for him there is a media that loves to hate Ronald Reagan, otherwise junior would be living under a viaduct.

Ronald Reagan knew his greatness lay in the fact that the American people could relate to him, could see a part of themselves in him. He was the best of us and we saw that he was one of us. This is the same attraction that Sarah Palin has. Those who admire and respect her do so because they relate to her as one of them, an ordinary American doing extraordinary things to make her country the best it can be.
Ron Reagan has little in common with his father besides his name. His inability to grasp the similarity between President Reagan and Governor Palin is typical of his short-sighted liberalism.
