I certainly was not impressed by this man's answers. They just don't understand that this is not union asking to "share" the companies profits...it about a union wanted to tax the people for their gain. I have a cousin who just retired from teaching (CT)...boy what a package she got, it was outstanding. Our taxes in my city and state are going up so much I don't know how the average person is going to make it. It is starting to get so scary. Really!
I think about what the people did to Marie Antionette when they got fed up with their "rulers" demand for more taxes, etc. People can only take so much abuse to their purses.
P.S. I was named after her!

Eventually enough folks will vote with their feet and move to areas when the local government is not a parasite on the taxpayers and these unions collapse under their own weight.
It's ridiculous to fund these unions with our tax dollars so they can bribe temporary politicians with campaign contributions for huge wages & benefits. Once the douchebag politician leaves office he figuratively kicks the can down the road for someone else to deal with. This is what Rep. Govs are doing today.

So I guess if any of you guys lived in WI it would be OK with you if your public utilities were sold to the Koch brothers, privatized so they could raise your electric bill.
This audio is confirming evidence of the Govs IQ.....around Bachmans and Palins. Just low enough to be used as a patsy by scumbags like David Koch.

There is one wrong with this thesis. The people that are doing the walking to other states are wanting the same thing there. A good example of this is Nevada. The inherently corrupt Public Service Unions have to be disbanded. There is no way collective bargaining can be done realitically when there is no financial risk to either party. The only people at financial risk in the public sector are tax payers. That means the school teachers have a say in how much tax money they want. I wish I had that ability in the private sector. ;) ww

I would never assume to know the average IQ of a "conservative". But you seem very upset by a teacher making 50K a year with a 24K pension but untroubled at all by the lack of prison time for the Wall Street criminals that infected the pension systems with toxic assets and are responsible for the 2008 crash. Now, and this is what makes me question your intelligence, shouldn't you be mad at the Wall Street criminals that caused the crash and not the teachers and cops that are the victims of criminality by Wall Street and state legislators?

Seems to me that if pension funds were the victims of the fraud that Taibbi describes, they could hire a good lawyer on a contingency fee contract and sue the funds that sold them the defective investments or the individuals involved. There are plenty of lawyers out there.
I don't have enough knowledge to decide whether the SEC is as corrupt as Taibbi claims. If the SEC is that corrupt, then the President and the Congress need to make changes (Taibbi claims that both the Dems and the GOP are equally dirty in this situation).
But none of this has to do with whether the union condones doctors handing out fake medical scrips so that teachers can defraud school boards and get paid for time they spent on strike.

Looks like Haliburton has run its' course and now the Koch bros are the new bogeyman. Ironically libs use this absurd tactic while feigning obliviousness to Soros.
And if that doesn't work, bring up the housing bubble crash while dishonestly assigning all blame to Wall St. conveniently leaving out the role the dems played.
It won't work. Not here or with the general population. The average american probably doesn't even know who the Koch Bros are and the only ones not suffering from the recession are govt workers, especially the union workers.

The toxic meltdown of Wall Street happened and most the deregulation of the sector was done during the Clinton Administration.
After the meltdown, the dem's continued to allow Fannie and Freddie do business even though they drove most the mortgage busts.
The unions like pension funds, because like Congress who uses Social Security surplus, unions use pension funds to politic and pay salaries to the bosses.
Can anyone prove to me that public sector unions are not inherently corrupt? ww
