I think lefties like Stewart realize just how much trouble Obama is in reelection wise. They want another candidate (read Hillary) to step forward and get the nomination. If noone steps forward and Obama is the nominee (which he will very likel be) in the general election they will fall back in line quick enough.

Yes, the lefties will fall back in line, but the Stewart Show is popular with not just hard core democrats, but also with independents and republicans. This kind of gentle ribbing is bound to make a difference. This clip is gentle but they could get meaner.
It is getting more and more common to watch the comics ridicule Obama - that is truly new since the last election cycle and good news for those who wish to defeat him in 2012.

Too little too late, Jon. You are one of the idiots who put him in the White House and now you have to happily swallow the crap he's shoveling.

It is too bad someone like Stewart can´t run in politics. Obama, advocating in opposition for open, honest government has been a dead loss as a practioner but Hillary would even be worse and has. They all sell-out or as IF. Stone, the muckracking journalist said, "all politicians lie", that was his working assumption, and it served him well. When was the last time, anyone publicly resigned in American politics on policy differences?
