"[O]n some of these issues, we're just going to have ideological differences.  I won.  So I think on that one, I trump you."

"At a time when you are struggling to pay your bills and meet your responsibilities, the least we can do to meet our responsibilities is produce a budget. That is not too much to ask for. That is what the American people expect of us, that's what they deserve. You want everybody to act like adults, quit playing games and realize it is not 'my way or the highway'."

Whatever you say Mr. President, whatever you say.

It is a joke. 40 billion? 1% of the budget?

We BORROW 1 billion a day to buy foreign oil.

Nothing will improve in America until people, especially tea party people, start addressing the real problems.

The top 1% of Americans own 34% of the nations wealth. That's right on par with Russia and Iran. No wonder we can't pay our bills...it didn't trickle down. Sorry conservatives but NPR isn't the problem with the budget. Grow up folks.

So, gnossos, you would support dealing with the real budget problems, like Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security? I am curious, then, what you think of Ryan Paul's budget proposal. You know, the one where tea party people are trying to deal with these issues? (Although, why you put a special burden on them is unclear to me, they actually are trying to fix the problems.) But hey, guess what? When you are paying your credit cards with credit cards, not buying ice cream when you eat a meal out is still a good step.

Let me see if I can understand gnossoss line of logic. The problem isn't that the government is spending too much money, it is that rich people have lots of money and I don't.

Ignore the white noise of the left.

Obama has finally won and earned a prize in my book. The most openly hypocritical democrat ever. And that is saying something. This guy did nothing concerning the budget for 2011 and neither did his party. Clearly for political reasons. NOW, Obamalama is worried about the budget and our troops, etc. This guy has got to go. ww

Take ALL the wealth from Forbes 400 richest Americans (leave them penniless) and you wont even make up the deficit for this years budget.

After that, next year take all the wealth (leaving them penniless) from the wealthiest 4000 americans and you wont balance the budget for that year.

The year after that take all the wealth (leaving them penniless) from the wealthiest 10000 americans and you wont balance the budget for that year.

They can keep going year after year until they take all your wealth and leave you penniless and then you will say "That's not fair"

Taxing isnt the problem. SPENDING IS THE PROBLEM.

I read the total value of everything in America is like $57 trillion. 34% will cover just about what we owe on the debt leaving "the top 1%" penniless. At a trillion dollars a year in deficit spending it will only take antoher 10 years for them to accumulate another $14 trillion in debt and then who are you going to take money from? 50% of the US population to pay it down again?

We have about $120 trillion in unfunded liabilities.

Taxing isnt the problem. SPENDING IS THE PROBLEM.

If you want to argue that there are no jobs out there let me say this.

I know where the average nondrug using American between the ages of 18 and 40 can get a job TODAY. They will recieve a regular paycheck and free medical care for themselves and their family.

It's called the military.

You know, it really is astonishing that Obama can read/say things like this with a straight face. We're all used to politicians saying things they don't mean, but this rises to a level never before seen.

He didn't happen to provide this gem from the golf course, did he?

You want "trickle down," gnossoss? Suppose we start hanging traitors, then . . . the domestic hemp industry will be stimulated, carpenters will be put back to work building gallows, and entrepreneurs can start new businesses selling hot dogs and sushi to the crowds of spectators.

That should trickle all over you, ya freak.
