BinLaden dead, killed in air strike.

No further details.

You'd think when the White House releases info like this, they'd put a little more effort into it. Like: WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN, HOW, WHY?

Or is that too much to ask of 'the best Administration, evah!"

1) It's too early to help on the re-election side.

2) People are not as exercised about OBL as they were. He's faded in importance with the passing years - this is more like the tying up of a loose end than a big win.

3) Taking credit for this is condoning the use of violence, and a lot of lefties are allergic to that.

Plus, if terrorist attacks don't immediately dwindle away to nothing, people are going to look at this and say "So What?", and they'll be right. Yes, it's good we finally got the swine, but there's a thousand more like him wandering around.

Exactly correct. Now, we will be able to judge Obama's character by how he plays this. Thanks the troops and notes that this was started by Bush = class act. Crows about it - usual jackass Obama. I have a good guess, but I am willing to wait and see. You never know, sometimes people rise to occasions.

And if we have Osama bin Laden in our sights and the Pakistani government is unable or unwilling to take them out, then I think that we have to act and we will take them out. We will kill bin Laden; we will crush Al Qaida. That has to be our biggest national security priority.

Perhaps if Bush had made the capture or killing of Osama bin Laden the top priority before of the CIA, instead of saying he wasn´t "truly that concerned about him", this could have been done earlier?

When you kill the head of any organization it leaves a power void so that someone else can come in and use the same organization. The axiom kill the head and the body will die isnt always true especially in organizations like AQ. Look at how many AQ leaders we killed in Iraq and it had some effect but not a lot. It didnt stop the suicide bombers, IEDs, etc.

The terrorists need to be taken out altogether. A leader without an army is much less of a threat IMO than an army without a leader because with the first you have 1 person. With the latter you have a void waiting to be filled (and there is along long line to fill the left by OBL)
