And so it's still all about 'race'.
Rather early to play that card, isn't it? I thought that would be reserved until the very last. Sort of like calling someone a Nazi when all else fails.

hcddbz, of course there were no questions about Bush's birth certificate.
But there were legions of kooks who argued throughout his two terms that he "stole" the 2000 election. And the TANG-AWOL conspiracy true believers were so crazed that they had to create their own forged documents in order to keep perpetuating their fantasy.
Of course the MSM doesn't want to talk about those inconvenient truths, because it would put the 'birthers' in the same category as the psychotic Bush haters of the last 10 years. Apparently they don't want any of us to remember that those nuts ever existed.
By the way, I think that 'racers' is brilliant, and I hope to see that term used frequently by conservatives during the next two years. Now, if we only had an off-color sexual slur to go with it ...

Of course it's all about race.
Obama's race is his ONLY qualification for office, PERIOD. He has no accomplishments or experience which would qualify him.
He has had no other qualification for previous offices, either. In the Illinois State Senate, he voted "present" 130 times, and his name was added to bills he never worked on by the Senate President, Emil Jones, for the expressed purpose of giving him a resume to run for US Senate. Now, all the records of his time in the Illinois legislature are "unavailable."
In the US Senate his first two years, he had the worst attendance of any Senator. His second two years, spent mainly running for President, were even worse, giving him the worst attendance record for four years of any Senator in the history. Even the dying Strom Thurmond and Robert Byrd managed to show up for more work their last four years in office than did Obama in his.
If Obama were not black, he wouldn't even have gotten into Columbia, much less Harvard Law, much less a lecturing position at the U of Chicago, much less the Illinois State Senate, much less the US Senate, and a white candidate for President with his resume would be laughed off the stage.
Race is ALL he has. Of course he will use it.

1) There were Democrats willing to question whether McCain was eligible to be President because he was born at a Naval base in Panama. If McCain had won, today it would be the Democrats who would be the Birthers.
2) There is still a group that question who is Trig Palin's mother. Again, if McCain had won, that movement would be all over the place.
3) Remember "Selected not Elected", Diebold, Ohio, Florida, etc. There were plenty of conspiracy theories about Bush stealing the election.
4) Remember Rathergate? Remember Operation Fortunate Son? The DNC started an entire operation questioning Bush's National Guard Service the SAME DAY that CBS did the infamous Rathergate story. Amazing coincidence. What did the Democrats ask for during that operation? For Bush to release all of his National Guard file.
5) Of course, let's not forget about the 9/11 Truthers. How many movies, books, websites, etc. came out with the purpose of connecting Bush to 9/11.
So Contessa and all of you Democrats. Get off your high horse. You're side has plenty of nut jobs who peddle in crazy conspiracy theories that make the Birthers look tame in comparison.
Of course, plenty of Republicans lost their minds during the Clinton years. So maybe its not about Obama's race after all. Except in the minds of the ever projecting Racers.

Now, here you are overstating your point. Do some people pull the race card at the drop of a hat? Yep. Do ALL people who voted for Obama do this? No, they don't. So it's best to avoid exaggerations of the situation in order to move past the circus.
I agree with you that some Obama followers are incredibly partisan and unwilling to listen to ANY criticism whatsoever. Absolutely. But then, the same can be said for plenty of people on the right. But definitely not all people on the right, by any means. In effect, the extreme folks on each end of the spectrum pretty much make discussion and debate near impossible.
