I long for the days of Bush. Even with all of his bumbling in southwest Asia, we didn't have any nitwit "zero-tolerance" public school administrators in those days. Bush never ordered the suspension of any high school students, not even for smoking pot in the lav.

Well Art, I despise Obama's policies but I do not hate him the Man personally. All the header of the post suggests is that in this age of Obama's presidency, this kind of thing has been transcended. In stead we are seeing just as much as ever.

Now chill out with some cherry flavoured Kool-ade my Man! We will survive.

Sep 14 is correct. For all the bloviation that the left indulges in about how obama has transcended race they are extraordinarily race conscious. Everything is about race for the left. It is the one thing that they will not give up. Everything is viewed through the lens of racial offense.

That's what this is about. It isn't about obama it is about the left in general and their twisted obsession with race.

Racism is alive and well in America, and runs under many guises.

It certainly does. Like the belief that black people aren't capable of thriving without the helping hands of white liberals. No doubt due to some innate inferiority yet to be determined.

Racism is indeed alive and ... (Below threshold)
jim m:

Racism is indeed alive and well in America. Today it primarily takes the form of the belief that a white man cannot disagree with a black man on any issue of substance. For the left maintains that a black man can never be wrong and we have no need to address the specifics of the white man's argument because we know without examining them that they are founded on racism.

If that were not the case we would not be hearing how every opposition to obama is based on racism.

And since the issue that is the subject of this post has nothing whatsoever to do with Obama, it's clear that the inclusion of Obama's name in the headline is intended to smear Obama as being a part of or behind the actions of the Soquel High principal.

Or, at a minimum, attract those racists that love to read stories like this and blame it on Obama.

Clearly from the comments above, it worked as intended.

Good Lord you are thick as a post! The connection is the bullshit lie that the left told everyone that if we just vote for obama it will show that we have moved beyond race. The unfortunate truth is that to the left everything is about race and electing obama only confirmed to he left that using the accusation of racism as a weapon to intimidate people into silence works. Well, they've over played heir hand and it doesn't work any more. Now we have a post racial nation because nobody cares if they are called a racist anymore and the real racists can now get away with being that way. Hope you're happy with that.

Art W:

"The connection is the bullshit lie that the left told everyone that if we just vote for obama it will show that we have moved beyond race. "

Sounds like something a simpleton would believe - that once Obama was elected racism would disappear. You're not really that naive as to be believe something as simplistic as that, are you?

The left told everyone that if we just vote for obama it will show we've moved beyond race? What the F are you talking about? Feel free to show where that was said = and be sure to show where they were serious when they said it.

And again, you'd have to be a moron to believe racism will end over night - or that Obama was elected because people believed such nonsense.

This post, and the inclusion of the Obama's name in the headline, is designed to give obama-haters a chance to complain about Obama - even thought it has nothing to do with Obama.

"Now we have a post racial nation because nobody cares if they are called a racist anymore and the real racists can now get away with being that way. Hope you're happy with that.

Lol! It's my fault you who make up strawmen arguments so you spew more hate about Obama and the left? I don't think so.

Obama didn't get elected because 'the left' convinced people racism would end if they voted for Obama. That's just another ad hominem attack on the left you're using to justify more hatred towards Obama.

It's sad that you can't recognize that, but not surprising. And folks like Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin just feed into that hate and stir it up.

They are the button pushers making sure racists are well fed - not the left.

jim m:

"This post, and the inclusion of the Obama's name in the headline, is designed to give obama-haters a chance to complain about Obama"

Perhaps, but then they don't really need an excuse do they? He already gives plenty of reason.

If you had bothered to pay attention to the subject instead of just reading the headline you would have learned that it was more about the politics of racial obsession and victimhood.

But I suppose that you are so smart that you do not have to read beyond the headline to know what the post is about because you are by your own admission the most intelligent person here (snicker).

And yes, I believe hat the subtext of much of what the left claimed during the 2008 election was that if we voted for obama it was evidence that the country had overcome racism. I am certain that you and other lefties would deny that anything of the sort was ever implied, but you can go back and find plenty of people who voted for him because he was black and that they wanted to show that they and this country were not racist.

"Plenty of people" JimM? I ... (Below threshold)
Art W:

"Plenty of people" JimM? I know a lot of people who voted for Obama and don't know a single person who said such a thing. I read a lot of left and right wing blogs in the years leading up to election of Obama, and didn't see a single person claiming to be supporting Obama because of the reason you stated.

Make up strawmen arguments and then rant about Obama - that's what's at work here. Obama had nothing to do with the decision and actions taken by the principal. He's included in this article (in the headine no less) because he's hated by the type of folks that read this blog, plain and simple, and they love having another reason to rant about Obama.

By the way, commenting about the headline doesn't mean I didn't read the rest or watch the video -- I did both. That was another moronic, strawman argument.

Bush hate, Palin hate, Beck... (Below threshold)
Jeff Blogworthy:

Bush hate, Palin hate, Beck hate, Jesus hate, Jew hate, racist-under-every-rock hate, etc. are all particular forms of hatred given special sanction by the left. (Complete with death threats, and hangings and burnings in effigy.) When the hate is directed toward a leftist icon though, the rules suddenly change. They become strict high-and-mighty moralists. The Puritans would be jealous of such righteous indignation. Funny that.

Yes, JimX. This is absolute... (Below threshold)
Jeff Blogworthy:

Yes, JimX. This is absolutely laid at the feet of the left as a whole. Race baiting is characteristic of the left. The left has a history. The Cambridge police automatically "acted stupidly" regardless of the circumstances. Duke lacrosse players were preemptively pronounced guilty by the left. The school system is a statist institution. It is compulsory government schooling. The entire system is rotten and falling apart. Kids get expelled for being caught with a one-inch toy gun. We have leftists to thank for that too.

One can say that isolated instances of discrimination are the fault of the right if you buy the fact that discrimination is characteristic of the right. I don't buy that premise. Discrimination too is characteristic of the left. White people are judged prematurely and black people are patronized with the "soft bigotry of low expectations." People judged to have excessive money are evil. Zionist Jews are said to control Hollywood and foreign policy. Christians are anti-science and want a theocracy. Global warming denialists should be fired. Black people who aren't liberal enough are labeled Uncle Toms and race traitors.

Either way, both shoes fit both leftist feet.

I see you have reinterpreted my words to mean whatever you like.

Any person, or group, can exhibit racism at various times. With some it is a fleeting anomaly. When discovered it is quickly condemned and rooted out. The group does not tolerate it.

With others, it is characteristic. It is always there and it is always tolerated and often rewarded. For example, hatred of so-called white people is encouraged and redefined so as to be completely outside the spectrum of racism. How convenient.

This suggested speech for high school principals comes from Dennis Prager.

Note how the leftist tendency is to gather in racial groups, mostly for the purpose of tearing down American ideals.

But that's not racism. Oh, no, no, no. Of course not. That's only racism when white people do it. For everyone else, it is "just."

My apologies if you don't like to see your words translated into plain English.

But according to your words, the only ideological side that's ever responsible for racism in society is the Left.

Perhaps your words **didn't** amount to that? Perhaps you also meant to say that the Right could ALSO be at some time responsible for some racism in society?

If so, please show me where in the comment I was responding to, you stated that the Right could ALSO be responsible as a group for racism.

Otherwise, if you don't like the translation, perhaps you should examine the thinking. Because what I'm showing you is the absurd essence that your larger statement is rationalize.
