One of 0bama's first actions as President was to suspend (by Executive Order) Military Commissions / Tribunals for the war criminals the United States is holding in Guantanamo Bay. Having failed miserably in their (0bama and H0lder) attempts to move the prosecution of these war criminals to Federal Courts stateside, the Administration has very quietly reversed course.
Was this the change the advocates of lawfare were hoping for? Or has it just been a thirty month waste of time as a clueless President and his clueless Attorney General finally (reluctantly, as far from the public eye as possible) admit that the Bush Administration was (once again) right all along.US charges 9/11 plotters in military commission system [again]
By Ed Morrissey, HotAir 31 May 2011The Obama administration has quietly refiled charges against Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and other 9/11 plotters in the military commission system. How quietly? The commissions office apparently only told the families of 9/11 victims about it last night, and news organization as of this morning are still not reporting it:
30 May 2011
2000 hoursDear 9/11 Families,
We wanted to inform you that charges will be sworn tomorrow against Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, Walid Bin 'Attash, Ramzi Binalshibh, Ali Abdul Aziz Ali, and Mustafa al Hawsawi for their involvement in the September 11, 2001 attacks. The eight charges common to all five of the accused are: Conspiracy, Murder in Violation of the Law of War, Attacking Civilians, Attacking Civilian Objects, Intentionally Causing Serious Bodily Injury, Destruction of Property in Violation of the Law of War, Hijacking Aircraft, and Terrorism.
The new action only restarts the process that Barack Obama upended in January 2009 by executive order:

Poor Obama.
Reality can be SO unforgiving - and it can't be bribed, coerced, or embarrassed with leaked documents about its divorce...

Hell, by this time next year Rambobama will be running to the right of George W. Bush on military/foreign policy matters. At least when campaigning in red states, that is.

If you are the "smartest guy in the room" with the creasiest crease in your pants, there's no need to explain total policy reversals to the criminally biased MSM.
