June 6, 2011 - 3:08 pmNemesis is always hot on the trail of hubris, across time and space, and the goddess has been particularly busy in destroying the carefully crafted images of Bono, John Edwards, Timothy Geithner, Al Gore, Eliot Spitzer, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, Anthony Weiner, and a host of others. What do their tax hypocrisies, sexual indulgences, and aristocratic socialist lifestyles all have in common?
Collectively, they represent a self-appointed or elected global elite that oversees, lectures about -- in sanctimonious fashion -- the ethical responsibilities of the redistributive state.
These paragons of hubris are finding, to their sorrow, that their transgressions are not private matters. A political life spent lecturing the public on the evils of society make their tawdry and venal personal lives a meet commentary on their political sermons.
Certainly all have sinned, and fall short of the grace of God, but most are sufficiently humble to avoid such blatant hypocrisy.

Barbara Walters is a talk show host. Nothing more. Ascribing to her "journalistic" creds so you can take them away is childish.
Greta VanSustern, on the other hand, is a partisan hack parading as a journalist.
See anything in there that resembles a journalism degree, or an hour of training as a journalist, for that matter?
Nope. Yet on Fox News she's a "journalist"?
B.S. - she's a partisan hack She's a lawyer with an axe to grind who pushes her partisan viewpoint into everything she does.
Once again we see the faux pain and anguish of a right wing blogger 'lamenting' as he rails against a "liberal" while ignoring the conservatives around him who do the exact-same-thing.

Who crafts those images of lefties as morally superior people? MiniTru. It's understandable, really: MiniTru supports the policy goals of people like Weinerman, Tax Cheat Timmy, DSK, et al; people who think alike naturally believe their compatriots to be intelligent and thus rather virtuous people (who would knowingly consort with a stupid dirtbag?). As far as MiniTru was concerned, Weinerman was "one of us"; it was incomprehensible that "one of us" could do anything so base and outright stupid. Therefore, he HAD to be telling the truth. There HAD to be a hacker. It HAD to be another lie by the odious Breitbart.
The Anchoress makes another connection:
They “know” the people they’re supposed to be covering, and they consider themselves “friends” of those people.
Contrast, of course, with MiniTru's treatment of Sarah Palin. She's not "one of us", they DON'T agree with her politics, and therefore they have no problem demonizing her as stupid, dishonest, immoral, and all the other things that Anthony Weiner actually is.

Let's see--Rodney points out that Walters' attempt to compare Palin with Weiner was so odd that even Joy Behar called her out on it.
So, naturally, in response, Art W pastes part of a Wiki page and concludes that, since nothing in the paste says that Greta Van Sustern took a jounalism class, Rodney is a "partisan hack."

Greta is a lawyer who comments on legal issues. Seems like relevant experience to me. Given the reporting of most people holding journalism degrees, I can't say I put much value on it as a qualification. Know it by its fruit. . .

Yeah, how could you ascribe journalistic credits to the 20+ year host of the ABC news show 20/20, or the former anchor of the ABC Evening News, who got her job on The View to bring it some credibility?
Or the fact that she's still a correspondent on ABC News? Or still does other "news" jobs for ABC?
Yeah, how could anyone think that one of the major news personalities for ABC for the last quarter-century has any journalistic credibility left?
