GIGO; Hope and Change end in Depression

Garbage In Garbage Out.

No matter how you massage bad data, it's still bad data.  Nor will all the spin in the world alter reality on the ground.

One should also take care in the parallels one draws, as all such are double edged swords.

Stimulus and Response

June 10, 2011 - 8:58 am - by Ed Driscoll

Business Insider links to the upcoming Time magazine cover with an "unexpected" twinge of surprise:

Ladies and gentleman, your latest Time Magazine cover.

The full story is here, but we think you get the point from the cover.

That happened fast, didn't it?

Not at all. On November 24 2008, almost two months before then-President-Elect Obama would take office, Time magazine declared him to be the second coming of FDR. When what Time magazine described as "The New, New Deal" turned out to have the identical effect as the Old Old New Deal, why on earth would they be surprised?

The never ending Leftist "progression": That didn't work, let's try it again.  Hmm, that didn't work, let's try it again...

Time to get off the misery-go-round of progressive policy.

Hope is not a strategy. Change is not a strategy. Liberalism is not a strategy. The admin is clueless on what to do with the economy, Foreign affairs, The deficit and the nation in general. This is because the folks responsible are clueless. What they learned in the ivory towers has no basis in fact or reality. Give them credit though, they will pursue the agenda to the bitter end because they are right and everyone else is wrong. Their professors told them so.

Totally fitting in this case.

Every so often reality hits liberals so hard it is able to seep through their concrete skulls. Unfortunately, however, the effect almost always is very short-lived.

Although Time's editors might appear with this latest cover to be clueing in somewhat, it must be noted that by this time next year they'll be in full Obama orgasmic mode, fawning over him like spoiled party girls might fawn over a Hermes catalogue.

Neither, a lot of people avoid and label all main stream media as liberal biased. If you actually read Time on a regular basis I think you would be suprised at how unbiased they are.

The left has no other ideas after socialism, so all they CAN do is keep trying again with more money.

After the utter failure of nearly $2 TRILLION in bailout/stimulus money, the likes of Krugman and Robert Reich complained it just wasn't enough.

The Left mirror what was said of the Bourbons, "They have forgotten nothing and learned nothing."

I am loving the MSM's and the administrations trying to redefine the economy problems. In 2008, is was all, ALL GW Bush's fault. Now, it is a complicated issue that we need to be patient.

Tina,

I subscribed to Time magazine from 1976 through 1991. In 1991, I became so disgusted with how biased it had become, I stopped subscribing. You may be correct that it has become unbiased, but it would be the first member of the media to go from left to center. It's columnist / journalist, Joe Klein, was a "journolist" member. The "journolisters" found it necessary to hide the fact that they were liberals. If you produce an "unbiased" product, why hide?

TexBob:

Looks like Barry's Cloward-Piven strategy is working quite well.

The strategy of forcing political change through orchestrated crisis. The "Cloward-Piven Strategy" seeks to hasten the fall of capitalism by overloading the government bureaucracy with a flood of impossible demands, thus pushing society into crisis and economic collapse.

Yep, the destruction of America's economy through the killing of jobs and many socialistic and tyrannical actions is working. I can't wait for $5 a gallon gas and 75 cent a Kilowatt/hour electricity and the wonderful Hope and Change impact they will bring.

How about the NYT, Tina? Unbiased? What say you?

Our lefty friends are moving to the next obama line of defense: economic problems are "structural" and cannot be affected by politicians.

This is always what is provided to us "rubes" the intelligentsia when the economy sucks and the Dems are in charge.

Every single time.

Not to worry though, just as soon as a Republican is elected to the Presidency, suddenly all "structural" barriers to economic performance will "disappear" just in time to hold the republican office holder to account for all economic performance.

No. Most of them know exactly what they are doing. And things are happening pretty much as they expected. You can't be this bad by accident. As TexBob said, their Cloward-Piven strategy is continuing along nicely.

I still think most of them don't REALLY appreciate how ...unsettled...this country will become when it all begins to collapse. But it may be starting to dawn on them.

I stopped reading Time back in 1973 when they published an article about the Vietnam war that was so one sided and inaccurate I swore I'd never touch another copy again, and I haven't.

That liberals think their policies are 'progressive' is just another re-branding of the same tired bullshit aka Marxism.
