Recently, Professor Victor Davis Hansen chose to rewrite one of President Obama's campaign speeches to reflect the reality of how things have developed -- and it was truly damning. It's amazing just what he promised, and what he has delivered.
On the other hand, several other folks have noted one pledge President Obama is trying his damnedest to fulfill -- and to hell with the consequences.
Of all things, this is the one he decides to throw himself into fully?
Someone, please, tell me how this will NOT deal yet another body blow to the economy.

Yes, of course, he will do everything he can to shutter the coal industry. He doesn't care how many people it puts out of work. Out of work people are dependent upon the government for their subsistence. He thinks that the more people you make dependent upon the government the greater his power.
People are not real to obama. He plays with great forces of history. People are an inconvenience to be ignored.

Sure is a bit different than what he actually said on the campaign trail, isn't it? But then, that wasn't what half the country wanted hear. They wanted to be lied to. They liked it. They gobbled it up.
