Obamanomics In Action: Green Kills Jobs

NRO points out the obvious: the government can’t run a business:

The Detroit News’s dogged David Shepardson has unearthed a study by one of world’s most respected automotive research firms that reveals that President Obama’s radical CAFE mandate that vehicles average — average! — 62 MPG by 2025 “could force vehicle prices up by nearly $10,000, reduce sales by 5.5 million vehicles annually, and eliminate more than 260,000 jobs.”

But, come on, just give it time! It’s disappointing to see this level of what I can only hope to be bureaucratic incompetence. I would hate to think that doing this sort of economy-killing is part of the plan.

Point being, the only way any of these “standards” are achieved is by making sure you don’t have to be subject to those “standards” (COUGHObamacareCOUGH). Money quote from Henry Payne:

This is change, Obama-style: More rules, more lobbyists, more corruption of government standards. It all adds up to more jobs for Washington bureaucrats, and fewer for the rest of the country.

Well, at least somebody’s gonna have a job.

Anthony Weiners mother in law is tied to the Muslim Brotherhood. Hillary Clinton vetted this woman so she could work for her. Does this mean that Hillary is also tied to the Muslim Brotherhood? One could come to this conclusion.

Well Duh. Of course this means more regulation and more government jobs while there will be fewer private sector jobs. The whole point is that obama wants the government to be paying everyone's paycheck.

The idiot doesn't believe in private industry. Putting people out of work is not a bug of these regulations. It's a feature.

I can see a lot of really old used vehicles on the roads in the coming years and a burgeoning market for repair shops fixing them to get around BS economy mandates. Of course the unions will suffer as will US automobile manufacturers as their market dwindles into nonexistence but that was the "Won's" goal all along.

Yeah, but as Thatcher observed, socialism only works as long as you've got other people's money to spend. When they're tapped out, so are you.

Of course we could always start a fake economy like Zimbabwe.

Yes.. A counter economic universe complete with bearded spock, unicorns that talk and money that grows on trees.

By the way, isn't it about time for Holder to answer for supplying Cartels with weapons? And the cool aid kids bitched about Cheney hunting.

Sep14, I wouldn't mind talking unicorns. Surely, magically imbued Houyhnhnm would not have this odd compulsion to call a communist a socialist, a socialist a liberal, and a liberal a moderate.

The first rule of revolution is that the people must be upset enough to toss out whatever government is in place. The second rule is that if not enough people are suffering, make them suffer and blame it on the other guys.

There was a certain point during the 2008 campaign when I realized two things: he's a communist, and I would be laughed at for even mentioning it in jest.
