We all laughed at this in church last Sunday, as a perfect illustration of "lost in translation" between different cultures (or drastically different periods of time, as we often see in the Bible).
It is a good one-liner, though: The Dali Lama walks into a pizza parlor and says, "Make me one with everything."

I saw the clip; even after translation, the DL drew a blank. I think it could have worked with the appropriate histrionic gestures, tho'.
