Al Gore, father of 4, wants to fight global warming with population control

A new low for Mr. Blowhard:

At a women's conference in New York City, environmentalist and former vice president Al Gore suggested population control as one weapon of choice against global warming.

"You have to educate girls and empower women, and that's the most powerful leveraging factor. And when that happens, then the population begins to stabilize and societies begin to make better choices and more balanced choices," said Al Gore at the Games for Change Festival in NYC on Monday, June 20.

Better choices, more balanced choices, as long as those choices line up with Gore's corrupt world view.

And anyone want to guess what Al Gore is talking about here? Here, let me help. The subject is population control. The buzzwords are choice and women's empowerment. Seems obvious.

Whether Global warming, polution, overfishing, over cultivating... The population of people on the earth is the greatest driver of man's impact on the planet. Short of becoming a serial killer, or someone like Hitler or Stalin (purging populations), or the Chinese very restrictive population growth, there is too little that can be done to curb man's impact on the planet. I'm not recommending any of these scenarios by the way, just recognizing what I think is a main driver of the problem. Our governments main reason to try to address the crises of man's impact on the planet is not to resolve these issues, but to provide a new source of revenue for 'important' government projects.

Thia is nothing new. The left has always called it a choice when you wanted to kill your baby. They have never considered it a choice to actually have the child. Under that formulation the left can excuse even forced abortions as "choice".

Once you convince yourself that the very survival of civilization and the human race are at stake you can justify any atrocity. Thank God this man never became President. I shudder to think of what he might have done.

And, of course, we have the avatar of the progressive elites' ideas about birth control, Margaret Sanger. The following is from her speech to the First American Birth Control Conference in 1921.

"The third group [of society] are those irresponsible and reckless ones having little regard for the consequences of their acts, or whose religious scruples prevent their exercising control over their numbers. Many of this group are diseased, feeble-minded, and are of the pauper element dependent upon the normal and fit members of society for their support. There is no doubt in the minds of all thinking people that the procreation of this group should be stopped."

-- Margaret Sanger. Speech quoted in Birth Control: What It Is, How It Works, What It Will Do. The Proceedings of the First American Birth Control Conference . Held at the Hotel Plaza, New York City, November 11-12, 1921. Published by the Birth Control Review , Gothic Press, pages 172 and 174.

As you probably would guess the first two groups are the educated elites who already "control" their family sizes.

Well, let's just update - as Algore would - Saint Margaret's original categories to offer special "indulgences" for large families to those members of the first two "groups" who perform "good acts" and "offer prayers" to Gaia as members of the Church of Algore.

True, but eugenics has a pretty brief history yet its proponents (like obama's science czar) are all advocates of forced abortions and sterilizations and the few governments that have really advocated eugenics have been very efficient at reducing the number of undesirables.
