More reason to like the New Jersey Governor:
While New Jersey allows gay couples to form civil unions, marriage should be between a man and a woman, Christie said today on NBC's "Meet the Press" program.
New York on June 24 became the sixth U.S. state to give gay couples the right to wed. Governor Andrew Cuomo signed the measure into law after the New York's Republican-controlled state Senate approved the measure earlier that night in a 33-29 vote. New Jersey's Senate rejected a gay marriage bill backed by then-Governor Jon Corzine in January 2010.
"In our state, we're going to continue to pursue civil unions," said Christie, 48, a first-term Republican. "I am not a fan of same-sex marriage. It's not something that I support."
...
"I believe marriage should be between one man and one woman," Christie said. "I wouldn't sign a bill like the one that was in New York."
Refreshing to see a Northeastern Catholic politician not going against the tenets of his faith.
Most refreshing.

I'm waiting to see when the first "gay" wedding will take place at St. Patrick's Cathedral.

I'm liking Christie more and more ...
I especially like his willingness to buck the trend. These clowns who themselves hold no personal beliefs, but merely read polls and focus group surveys, have got to go.

When two gays can procreate all by themselves, I'll consider it a 'marriage'.

Sadly, gay marriage is probably a done deal now. And once it is done, since 'marriage' will be such a malleable definition, the polygamy will follow.
First it will be for allowing muslim multiple wives, and the PC wimps will whine about 'not wanting to judge other cultures' or other bullshit.
Then it will be the far-out Mormon-ish groups. They will get more pushback and media scrutiny because they are white and sorta Christian-ish; but eventually they'll get the 'right' to polygamy too.

There is a lot about Christie to like, but his total genuflection to "experts" on global warming and his jihad on coal is very troubling. I don't know how these people expect us to live after a successful prosecution of the war on energy production.

Christie has made conflicting statements concerning anthropogenic warming. He certainly does deserve some accolades on the issue:
The above quote is from an informative article that talks about Christie's views on AGW as a "work in progress" and says he deserves a "second bite at the apple." I hope he ultimately comes down on the right side.

Yeah, Christie's not perfect, but he gets the big picture right, and that's what's important: to derail the socialist agenda, and thereby save America.
Besides, Christie may well come around on AGW and other lesser issues.
In any case, we've gotta keep our eye on the ball.
