I like how 'ASSHATS' is right on the top banner. That way Wart, Bruce Henry and chico/jerry will know right where to post.

Very nice to provide the "asshats" with their own section. Quite Christian.
Or will this be a roster used to id them?
That would work also.

I got a peek at it a short while ago(you could tell that someone was playing with the site), and while obviously under construction, think it will be a nice change. Make sure you take time to enjoy the weekend.

Software AND redesign at the same time? Never knew Kevin was a glutton for punishment. Hope the liquor cabinet is well stocked! ;)

Just dropped in for a sec...
I certainly hope the transition goes well. I can't wait to see the redesigned site.
As for myself it's back outside to finish prepping the 3 grills for a feast of BBQ ribs, chicken, pork, burgers and hot dogs for tomorrows celebration with the assembled clansfolk.
Enjoy!

Happy Independence Day to all patriots!

They don't try to "make it their own" or show off, but it's a beautiful take.

I just signed up for Disqus. It looks like it give the ability to edit comments. Love that. I can fix my spelling mistakes.

Sorry. It's a pain in the ass to have to sign up for one more bullshit account just to leave comments here.

Is it going to be required that you have a disqus account to comment?

Looking at Wizbangpop it seems that you don't need an account but you need to allow the third party cookie from Disqus.
That's not so bad. I just don't want to have to sign up for some other account that I would find unnecessary.

Disqus is a comment engine. Some sort of identity will probably be required. This post show the variety of ways you can authenticate. So it won't be required that you actually have a Disqus account. That said, the one Disqus account is good at thousands of popular sites so it's not a bad idea to sign up...
The alternative was to have local registrations on our new WordPress site. Those ID's would have been only useful here.
In both cases we get what we need - the ability to identify a commenter so we can effectively moderate or ban - but Disqus allows us to leverage the accounts of many of our current commenters without adding an additional step for them...
