Happy Days

So I was reading a post at A Small Victory, well it wasn't so much a post as a series of questions, but that's besides the point. Michele asked her readers whether ASV had jumped the shark, to which most correctly responded "hell no." One of the commenters (Ryan) was gracious enough to cover the rules of shark jumping:

  1. Add an unnecessary new character/new kid/special guest
  2. Wedding/Baby birth
  3. Ted McGinley joins the cast

Hey wait a second!

We just had a baby in April and I added Rodney, Paul, and Jay Tea as part time contributors. When I returned from paternity leave I made them recurring guest stars - to use the TV series metaphor. That's dangerously close to jumping the shark. The fact that Paul is actually a pseudonym and in real life he is Ted McGinley makes Wizbang 3 for 3 on the shark jumping meter.

And things were going so good around here...

Excuse me? Paul is Ted McGinley? PAUL?

"Jay Tea" is merely a phonetic for the letters "J. T.," and that sands for "Jumping Ted."

I must confess.

I am Ted McGinley.

Once a month I fly from the set of "Hope and Faith" to New Hampshire to get a little local color, then jet back to Hollywood and compose my postings.

While I have the stage, though, I'd like to apologize for my role in "Pearl Harbor." I thought it would be my dramatic breakthrough moment, the role that would let me show my serious chops. Had I known the rest of the movie was going to devolve into such a joke, I'd have called Paulie Shore and Carrot Top and seen if they wanted to do a Shakespeare film with me instead.

And before anyone asks, yes, I have seen Christina Applegate naked. And Faith Ford. And Kelly Ripa. All I will say is that none of them come CLOSE to Marion Ross naked.

Phew. That's a relief, getting that off my chest.

With any number of blogs, starting on the other side of the shark to begin with, I've thought that some of the following may be a good name for a blog.
- The other side of the Shark
- One flew over the Shark
- Over the Shark

You're all a bunch of imposters. Not only am I the real Ted McGinley, the one on "Hope and Faith" is an imposter.

And that wasn't really the Fonz on that motorcycle, it was me.

Lately I've been advising the Democrats.
