You Thought 10,000 Lawyers Were Going To Do Nothing?

Read this statement from RNC Communications Director Jim Dyke on what they anticipate from the Kerry-Edwards lawyers today.

Here's a numbered list of the high-level expectations:

  1. As the polls open Democrats will prepare to file action to keep GOP poll monitors out of polls.
  2. As soon as the courts open, Democrats will file suits alleging irregularities in the voting process.
  3. By noon, we expect to see litigation challenging state I.D. and voting requirements.
  4. In the early afternoon, Democrats will begin filing to keep the polls open.
  5. Before the day is out, Democrats will begin to argue that every provisional ballot should be counted.
Let's do what blogs do best and track this through the country. If you find reports of actual court proceedings that match one of the 5 numbered items make sure you tell us. We'll try to update each item with links throughout the day.

Nah - too much work. How about YOU track this through the country, and we'll sit on our lazy asses and dole out the occasional golf-clap?

Are you also going to track... (Below threshold)

Are you also going to track the number of GOP shills challenging every minority voter?

Steve - They don't have to challenge every minority voter. They just have to slow down the process so that the lines get longer and longer. Some people will get tired of waiting, or have to go to work, or have to pick the kids up from daycare, so they will have to leave.

As for point #4, filing to keep the polls open usually happens when, ballot boxes don't show up on time, the janitor doesn't show up with the keys, voting machines break down, etc.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - A federal judge partially granted Democratic U.S. Sen. Tom Daschle's request to limit the activities of Republican poll watchers after he accused his opponent and the GOP of intimidating American Indian voters.

The decision early Tuesday by U.S. District Judge Lawrence Piersol applies only to voters in Charles Mix County. Daschle had requested an order for the whole state.

150 years ago you wouldn't have heard anything about intimidating a Sioux, Blackfoot or Cheyene.
