Quote Of The Day - Like A Bear In The Woods Edition

D.B. - "I took a poo in the woods hunched over like an animal. It was awesome," C.D. - "I am so jealous right now, I am going -- I am going to the woods tomorrow."
Drew Barrymore explaining her quasi-religious scatological experience to the empty headed Cameron Diaz on MTV's eco-tourism series "Trippin'". On another episode Diaz and sexy Sin City star Jessica Alba sleep together, which means Alba was forced to get an upclose look at Diaz's morning acne... Quote via Moonbat Central.

I've had to poo in the woods myself, generally holding a large caliber hunting rifle and dressed in camo. No religious experience so far, but then again I packed poo-paper which is probably a no-no to the enviro-freak movement.

Heh, movement.

I've done some above the tree line multi-day climbs where you have to pack out everything that you bring in, including things you've processed biologically. Makes for some interesting packing to make sure that none of your good stuff gets too close to the nasty stuff.

A lot of heavily trafficked national parks have the same requirement.

Wonder if the greenie Drew packed up her poo or just left it there for someone else to find.

"Celebrities for Poo".

Forget pooping in the woods... (Below threshold)

Forget pooping in the woods. I'm still picturing Alba and Diaz in bed together. Yeah, I'm a sexiest pig driven by hormones....but.....excuse me....I need a moment....

Sorry, but sometimes we are that simple... ;-)

From your link/Moonbat Cent... (Below threshold)

From your link/Moonbat Central:

This is what I think...(too)...

Paul Dreissen, author of Eco-Imperialism: Green power/Black Death, who takes a decidedly less romantic view of Third World lifestyles than Diaz and Barrymore, had this to say in reference to their MTV series:

"There's something perverse and immoral when multi-millionaire Hollywood celebrities head off on junkets in the jungle - and then preach to us lesser mortals about the joys of the simple life, and how we should protect the Earth, conserve energy, prevent global warming, and help the poorest people on our planet continue 'enjoying' their poverty, malnutrition and premature death.

Life in these developing countries is still nasty, brutish and short. And that there is a reason our parents and grandparents worked so hard to create modern homes and hospitals and technologies, so they could leave behind the unsafe water, dung fires, pollution, rotted teeth, infant mortality and life expectancies half of ours. This entire MTV series totally glosses over the hardships and premature death that is right before their eyes. Even mentioning these facts would obviously get in the way of their ideological message, and their determination to turn [MTV viewers] into little ventriloquist's dummies for the sustainable development movement,"

Obviously, the entire premise (and reality shared) in "State of Fear" was missed completely (probably not read) by both D.B. and C.D.

They would feel entirely differently about pooing in the woods if they didn't have their trailers, SUVs and various fine homes to return to, I am betting, nor the makeup, the baths, the keepers, the plastic surgeons (I mention as to both), the trainers, the managers, the bank accounts, the investors, the agents, the parties, the premieres, the dieticians (and all the great food they get to organize as they do), the clothes, the dressers, the stylists, the publicists, the personal assistants, the runners, the gofers, the directors, the enterouges...

I can't believe any longer that entertainers can persist as these are doing in emphasizing such terrible stereotypes about "celebrity" foolishness.

Oh, and about pooing in the woods, having grown up on ranches and farms, when you are five hours by horse from the nearest "facility," a poo in the woods is nothing extraordinary. Or even one hour, now that I think about it...ha.

Try five a.m. in the snow at ten degrees. And THEN you have to figure out how to make breakfast.

Heh, movement.... (Below threshold)

Heh, movement.

And Dodgeman pinches off the best punchline I've seen today.

If going primitive is so 'awesome' I wonder if Barrymore, Diaz and Alba are coming back (well I sure hope Jessica Alba does!)

Do you think Drew Barrymore will still be pooing in the woods one year from now?

Also from the Moonbat Centr... (Below threshold)

Also from the Moonbat Central link:

Perhaps Diaz and Barrymore should consider scrapping Trippin' for a new "reality" show in which they both swap lifestyles with two Third World families for one year.

They wouldn't last a week.

Unless they could have their assistants poo in the woods for them, then maybe -- two weeks.

Losers and Hypocrits. Being in the wilderness is okay. Coming home to a soft bed and a hot meal is a lot better.

Does it ever occur to these morons, that jetting around and driving in SUVs with their entourage wastes more energy than if they just stayed home and baked cookies???

Yeah JT, my first thought echoes yours. DB however, has a snarky sense of humor. I didn't see the show as I eschew cable, but I would wonder whether she was just going for the shock value of her statement. CD, on the other hand, well, I am just not going to go there.

Having used a variety of environments outside of established poo repositories, I must beg to differ from those poo-pooing the religious aspect of the experience: as I recall the admonishions of the gastroenterologist who was my internship director "Folks, I know you will find this hard to believe, but some day, sooner than you think, having a good bowel movement will be more important than sex."
