Cindy Sheehan Moves In

She set up camp on her new property so she can more effectively stalk President Bush:

A year after her first war protest in President Bush's adopted hometown attracted thousands and reinvigorated the nation's peace movement, Cindy Sheehan resumed her vigil Sunday.

Under the blazing Texas sun, Sheehan and more than 50 demonstrators again marched a mile and a half toward Bush's ranch, stopping at a roadblock. As Secret Service agents stood silently, Sheehan held up her California driver's license and said she wanted to meet with the president.

"It doesn't say my new address, but I do live here now," said Sheehan, who lives in Berkeley, Calif., and recently bought land in Crawford for war protests. "My name is Cindy and Bush killed my son."

The group then chanted, "This is what democracy looks like! This is what democracy sounds like!" and a few people sang "This Land Is Your Land" while standing near the roadblock before returning to the protest site.

White House spokesman Tony Snow has said that neither Bush nor his staff plan to meet with Sheehan.

"I would advise her to bring water, Gatorade or both," Snow said when asked about Sheehan during a press briefing Friday. "Honestly, when you're talking about the kind of issues that we're talking about, Cindy Sheehan hasn't risen to the level of staff meetings at this point."

Earlier Sunday, about 50 protesters attended an interfaith service Sunday on the 5 acres that Gold Star Families for Peace recently bought with insurance money Sheehan received after her oldest son, Casey, died in Iraq in 2004.

The vacant land, with a field and tree groves, is near downtown, about seven miles from the ranch. Sheehan, who plans to donate the land for a park after the war is over, said she plans to register to vote and get a driver's license in Texas.

And get this. When a protester shows up to protest Cindy Sheehan's protest, he's told to go away:

As Sheehan spoke, saying "our hearts are connected," regardless of people's races, countries or religions, a man disrupted the service with loud questions and shouts of, "This is unpatriotic!" before the protesters asked him to leave.

William McGlothlin of Marked Tree, Ark., said he was visiting his son in College Station and decided to try to see Bush's ranch, then stopped by the protesters' site because he had heard about them and was angry.

"I believe Bush is doing what he should be doing," McGlothlin said. "Freedom of speech is good until it gets out of whack."

Cindy Sheehan and her groupies made it their purpose in life to protest President Bush in Crawford, Texas and went as far as purchasing property near him for the purpose of harassing him. But when someone protests them, well, that's simply unacceptable. What hypocrites.

Well, let me get on record ... (Below threshold)
Andrew X:

Well, let me get on record as saying that if Mr. McGlothlin did indeed "disrupt" the wench Sheehan he is in fact in the wrong.

One's right to free speech does not include the right to step on others same right, and the disruptors, like that twit in the Congressional Gallery while the President of Iraq spoke are, well, can I say .... assholes? (and is that epithet gender-nuetral? Seems like it only works for guys.)

By all means, follow that dipstick chick Sheehan, whose shield of sympathy was burned away entirely by her totalitarian-loving antics ages ago. Park on her lawn (if legal), hold up signs at her rallies, use her own tactics against her, etc, but don't interrupt or disrupt her speech. That is a tactic that has been in use full bore by the left for decades, and that in itself is reason enough not to do it. It's lame.

She's keeps showing up like Herpes!

That's it I'm calling her Herpe from now on. She a hideous sore that shows up unannounced and never goes away. Harmless but Hideous.

There are many words that could be used to describe Cindy Sheehan, but one keeps popping up in my mind: tedious. The ironic thing is, she is harmless to Republicans, but potentially very hazardous to Democrats that want to be taken seriously.

Sheehan will go down in history as a bad joke, nothing more. I pity anyone that need mental health care and won't seek it, and she difinetly need some high lever mental health care.

Cindy is yesterday's news. She's had her 15 minutes of fame, shown her true colors, and become a shameful character. Clearly, her son would be as ashamed of her as we are.

I can not imagine a worse put down for anyone at the management level. It basically says you're lower than 'bio breaks.'

It is not only bad manners ... (Below threshold)

It is not only bad manners and bad conduct to disrupt Sheehan and her ilk when they are speaking, it is also counterproductive.

When dealing with these loons, the best way to beat them is to just let them talk. The longer Cindy Sheehan speaks, the dumber she sounds, and the more anti-American. Sunlight is the best disinfectant, and all that . . .

It's too bad she used a cut-out to buy the property, but let's not forget that it is nothing but a publicity stunt. She isn't building a house there. The protesters are going to have to cope with an even hotter Texas heat than last year, a predominately hostile neighborhood, and local fauna like scorpions and rattlesnakes.

I hope locals don't go out and dump large numbers of snakes in the ditches bordering her property, though. That would be wrong.

These idiots in Code Pink have NO problem with shutting down anyone elses "right to free speech" when it disagrees with their agenda. With bullhorns. With lawyers.

I am sorry, but your dog don't hunt. The members of Code Pink are NOT "nice people voicing their opposition to the war" but are in fact seditionists and traitors. Yes they are, hun. They activly support with money Islamofascists terror organizations. THEY pay to have OUR soldiers killed. Do your research hun and you will find it to be true.

If they want respect then they should give it. And these freaks in Code Pink respect NOTHING! They do not respect property rights, they do not respect others right to free speech or to protest THEM. Take a look at how they operate in this articles over at Gateway Pundit to see how these pinkos operate. They are bullies.

Cindy Shehaan is a traitor ... (Below threshold)

Cindy Shehaan is a traitor not only to this country, but to her own son, whom she proclaims to adore. I feel sorry for anyone that has her genes, they are walking time bombs waiting to disintegrate into babbling idiots.
And if her son is watching his mother's antics, I am sure he is saddened by her attacking the very nation that he laid down his life for. I am assuming he voluntarily enlisted in the US Army and accepted his duty to his country as any good soldier does.
