More Brilliant Commentary From The Chicks

What do you do when your record sales are suffering, you have to cancel concerts due to slow sales, and you couldn't construct a coherent sentence if your life depended on it? You call the President a "dumb f*%$" of course. When the Dixie Chicks trashed the President on foreign soil, then later trashed the country fans that had made them multi-millionaires, I was embarrassed for them because they did not seem to know beans about Iraq or the terrorist threat or politics or much of anything else except music. But mostly I was just sad because I really loved their music.

I can honestly say though that I have not missed them one bit. New acts like Sugarland, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town and The Wreckers have more than taken the place of the Chicks. For country music fans that choose their music by their politics (something I don't normally do, except when an artist puts the music secondary to the political agenda, as the Chicks have done) there are plenty of other alternatives including Sara Evans, who Kim blogged about below. Evans is not only a friend of Delay, but is a good friend and frequent guest of Sean Hannity, and her husband was a Republican candidate for Congress. I owned two of her CDs before knowing of her political leanings. I do have one problem with her though, everytime she is on television I have to hear my husband talk about how hot she is.

It's always amusing to watch people like Natalie (music school dropout) tell us the guy who graduated from both Harvard and Yale is dumb. I'll choose to continue giving the benefit of the doubt to the President; thanks anyway Nat.

Looks like the Dixie Chicks are just angry that their fan base isn't buying their CD's anmore. I guess they didn't realize we weren't a bunch of dumb southern hicks.

And I seriously doubt that the Northern liberals will buy them either since country music is foreign to them.

Way to go DC!!! They or their promoter have to be the stupidist group of people I've ever seen.

Its odd to sometimes hear artists complain about all the "politics" of promoting their art, then make political statements, and piss and moan about the results.

I have nothing against an artist expressing their strong feelings to the public. Some of the strongest feelings make for powerful art. Whether I agree with the politics or not. But once you start with nasty invective and disrespectful trashing of folks or ideas, then you've crossed the line of respectable behavior. There are ways to gently and playfully poke fun at those who appose your ideas. Seems a lot of folks have forgotten, or never learned, what that means.

Whether an artist or a blogger crosses the line, its still the same sad result:

Type in what artist you like and they will play that artist along with others that are similar. If they play something that you aren't fond of tell the search engine and eventually it will tailor the playlist to your desires. You might discover artists that you never heard of but like their music.

I love the service and everyone I have turned on to it does too.

What a Dumb F**k!

I voted for Bush twice, thrice if he could run again, and I still consider it the most appropriate expression Natalie has articulated since her 2003 comment!

We don't owe Bush unfaltering reverence; he was elected to the office so he works for us. Why on earth should we blindly accept everything he speaks as dogma?

I fully support him as our leader, but I will never place him on a pedestal. We own it to our American heritage to keep the government at our level, and never allow it superiority over any of its citizens.
