Let's Get To Work!

I just checked the "Leaderboard" at the RNC site and Wizbang is currently ranked #7 in order of readers who have signed up to make GOTV phone calls. Thanks to those who are doing their part. I think we can do better though. Please sign up to make some calls if you are able. GOTV is key and the outcome is still in your hands.

I received a phone call this afternoon from a very pleasant lady who reminded me to vote Republican on Tuesday. I told her that me and my husband voted yesterday and I thanked her for her hard work. Thanks to all of you for yours, too! Just so you all know that I am not slacking off, I will be making calls at party headquarters on Sunday night and may try to do some calls from home as well.

Lorie...like you..I have been involved with phone banks this week...we understand that democracy takes a little personal sacrifice and effort...i have to wonder how many readers and posters here..in the wide spectrum of political attitudes....have sacrificed a little personal time like you and i have done...
...if the only contribution they (all of they)can make is posting here...they lack the courage of their convictions...I apologise for my someimes harsh words directed toward you...I respect the effort you put forth for your beliefs...(we..of course disagree on Tue outcomes)

Listen, we got this Patriots-Colts game coming up, and all you people can talk about is the stupid election.

Get a sense of proportion, will ya?

Space of aides:

I think the GOTV effort is fast reaching a point of over-saturation. When we came home this afternoon, there were 6 messages waiting on our phone. 4 of them were political. 0 of them were listened to all the way through.

I'm really looking forward to Wednesday, because I can look forward to perhaps as much as a year before the '08 bombardment begins.

PS: Patriots by 3? I don't think so. Colts by at least 7!

Make sure when yo'all are callin' your pubican friends tell them how Duke Cunningham is doing, and how Tommie Delay so enjoys his retirement from his job,and how Bobbie Ney is going to enjoy his own set of prison stripes and let's not forget Frist who is under investigation as well as Conrad Burns, Senior WH adviser Scooter Libby, Congressman Jim Gibbons, Chairman of the Appropriations committee Congressman Jerry lewis AKA Duke's buddy, Congressman Mark Foley, Mr Family Values,Brian Doyle deputy press secretary of Homeland Security, another family values predator and the list goes on and on with aides and staffers and contributors........

Yesiree, make sure you tell them how HONEST publicans are making this country safer. Lie through your teeth, they're just as gullible as you are! HAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA

Looking forward to Wednesday, Space? Try Friday -- the vote count will take forever, and with tight races in so many areas the counting will continue for days. Just my $0.02.

Well - it may take more than one of you to get Deborah Pryce to the the polls... it sounds like she's hoping the election will be postponed for a year or two.

Who is Deborah Pryce?

As she fights for her political life, Ohio Republican Rep. Deborah Pryce distanced herself Thursday from the Iraq war, telling CNN Radio, "What's happening in Iraq is not a direct reflection on me."

The seven-term representative is the House Republican Caucus chairwoman, the fourth highest-ranking position in the House. She won re-election in 2004 with 62 percent of the vote. However, experts say her current race with Democrat Mary Jo Kilroy is a toss-up.

Pryce made the remark Tuesday in an interview at a Columbus, Ohio, factory. When pressed by CNN on whether her position as a House leader connected her to the volatile situation in Iraq, Pryce objected to the interruption of her remarks and said the interview was over.

"Thanks, I'm done," Pryce said. She expressed frustration and walked away saying, "Maybe we'll call you later when I'm feeling better."

In a statement issued to CNN later, Pryce finished her response, writing, "What's happening in Iraq is not a direct reflection on me."

This is the forth ranking Republican in the House, and she is blaming the military for the problem in Iraq! AMAZING -- The Republicans are trying to shift the blame to the military!

"I voted to give the president the authority to use force in Iraq; that doesn't mean I'm always happy with what I see, but I can think of nothing worse for our troops or our prospects for success than having 435 members of Congress second-guessing our commanders," Pryce wrote.

Wait a minute!!! Second guessing our commanders? President Bush is the Commander-in-Chief and Pryce is the 4th ranking Republican in the House. She's deferring to Bush, instead of doing her job as a representative of the American People!

Vote her rubber-stamping *ss out of the House, and elect someone who will represent the people, not just their party.

Thanks a bunch for that information! I hope they are careful though, some people might try and make calls to scare people away from the polls instead of help.

Ive got my list but can't make any calls this late at night, they all say, "You can't call at this time." Bah! Of course, it is 1:30 a.m. :)

I'll make calls tomorrow and Monday though! Feels good to be able to help out in some way.
