New Episode of 24 Tonight at 9 p.m. EST

New episodes of Prison Break and "24" begin shortly, at 8 and 9 p.m. EST, respectively. I am a huge Prison Break fan, in spite of the absolute unbelievability of the show. It has gotten really interesting lately and promises to be action packed tonight, as well.

On "24," we should find out if President Palmer survives an assassination attempt and whether or not the guy from Ally McBeal/Numbers, who tried to save him, survives. Comments are encouraged.

Prison Break may be hard to believe, the way they always manage to just barely escape, but it still keeps me on the edge of my seat! And I really care about the characters--well, most of them.

Me too! I love the show and the characters and the plot twists. The intricate planning the character Michael Scofield did with the tattoo and all was really, really cool.

I agree with pjaykc ... Chad is on the short-list.

And why did Jack give Marilyn and her son to a noname CTU agent ... those no-names are like the OA team on Star Trek. You always know the no-name is going to end up dead ...

A drone ??? nice!

I have been reading the 24 books, and one of the things I have noticed that are the same between both the show and the books is the use of technology. The 24 writers are always on top of the latest technology. Writing in a drone is brilliant.

Lorie Byrd:

There is no way they would allow someone who was tortured and just gave up the nuke codes to a bunch of terrorists to continue working in counterterrorism mere hours later. Not unless there was absolutely no one else on earth who could do his job. That little storyline is getting on my nerves.

Nadia may be a mole. Or she is just a big suck up trying to make herself look good at Maurice's expense. Please end this little drama. If we are going to have a drama at CTU, please at least let it be some mole action, or even some hot little romance, but this is just silly.

Maybe Ricky Schroeder is a new analyst. Bring him in to replace Morris and Milo. Don't forget Milo is out too ...

Or, in the spirit of bringing back old story lines, they could bring him in to take over CTU after locking down CTU once Jack roughs up the Russian. They haven't brought that one back yet this season ...

While it's nice technology,... (Below threshold)

While it's nice technology, the drone is a rather james bondish and complicated way of delivering the nuke to its target. don't both gredenko and fayed have unlimited supplies of willing martyrs who would be more than willing to drive the bomb to its destination? does the drone have a baggage compartment? If not, do they plan on velcroing the suitcase to the underbelly or the side of the drone? Will Gredenko get a baggage claim check for the bomb so he can trace it when the drone invariably misplaces the bomb and it doesn't show up at its intended destination?

And other than it being 24, why do logan and jack have to dress up and go to the russian consulate? the consul doesn't get to go outside and play? he doesn't answer the phone? and does jack carry a spare business suit with him or is it just a coincidence that he is a perfect fit with either logan or someone on logan's security detail.

and assad was pretty quick - about a second and a half by my count - to assume that the leaking blinking voice recorder was a bomb... instead of simply a leaking blinking voice recorder. and his reaction, yelling bomb and jumping on the President... almost as if he had gone to secret service school.

And for the part that makes no sense at all? it's here

robert the original:

A nuke is many times more effective if detonated from a height.

Some drones carry bombs, why couldn't the nuke be put where the bomb goes?

Jack and Logan go to the Embassy in next week's show, how do you know he doesn't get a suit delivered or something. You are working ahead.

There is nothing in a normal recorder that blinks or leaks. Even you would smell a rat.

After the major spoiler in ... (Below threshold)

After the major spoiler in the post, I've scrolled through the comments to avoid more. No offense.

When the show began, I was a DirectTV subscriber caught in the "local stations" mess. Until they were able to provide local network feeds, we got stations from NY, Chicago, LA, Seattle . . . but when the FCC intervened, our local Fox affiliate (alone) denied us the right to receive a distant station, so we couldn't get Fox network shows until the dispute was settled. Missed the first season of 24, but got it on DVD later and was hooked.

DVD is the only way I watch it now. No commercials, and we can see as many shows as we can stand at a sitting. It has much greater impact and immediacy.

Since this info obviously kills future suspense, I must stop reading all "24" posts. I'm "going dark."
