Quote Of The Day - Racists Are All Republicans Edition

And the thing is, the people who wouldn't vote for a person because they're black wouldn't vote for a democrat anyway

Five-time Grammy winner John Legend, discussing his support for Barack Obama in a live discussion on washingtonpost.com. Legend was addressing a variation on the "is America ready for a black president?" question. Legend might want to check into the support Hillary Clinton received in Ohio and Texas.

The racists on the left jus... (Below threshold)

The racists on the left just don't get it. We judge candidates (and others) by the content of their character (and their policy positions, in the case of elections), not the color of their skin. I voted for Lynn Swann...I'd vote for him again. Of course, to the left, Swann isn't considered black enough, because he doesn't hold liberal positions.

This is the argument that a... (Below threshold)

This is the argument that always gets me:

In the Jeff Coryell piece he says, "Second, the correct response to racism is to discuss it, not to ignore it. There is a pervasive, perhaps nearly universal tendency among whites to avoid talking about the distasteful topic of racial animus,...".

Then he follows with this: "Third, racism operates on a subconscious level. A common mistake, and a severe restriction on discussing the role of racism, it to conceive of it only in terms of conscious choice."

First, he's advocating discussion then he immediately shuts it down. How can you argue that? Severe restriction? In other words, admit you're racist on a subconscious level and then we'll discuss.

And then he finishes the whole piece off by blaming Hillary for bringing out the racism in Democrats. However, has he wondered at all what the percentages were of black people voting for Obama who declared that race was not important - since he begins by stating that the 20% who declared it was not important was undoubtedly less than truthful?

The democrats have one of t... (Below threshold)

The democrats have one of the most racist policies in modern American history. They want to distinguish between people based on race (affirmative action), they want to abridge constitutional rights based on race (politically correct speech) and they insist on creating political apartheid based on race (gerrymandering of districts to ensure election of minority candidates). Then you have people like Wright who vilely slander people based on their race not matching the victim cult of the left. Disgusting.

I don't give a rat's patootie what color a candidate is, but I care very much what his positions and philosophies are.

I simply will NEVER support a candidate who tolerates radical Marxist ideology. If that means I can't vote for a particular black candidate because he is closely associated with those I consider anti-American radicals, so be it.

"And the thing is, the people who wouldn't vote for a person because they're black wouldn't vote for a democrat anyway"

And then there are people who would vote for a black candidate and never vote for a democrat.

"Ummm.....how many elected black politicians are Republican?"

Ummm.....how many black politicians even run on the Republican ticket? Get a grip JFO. We're not the racist pigs you think we are - but it won't keep you from pretending so anyway.

Let's see, the democrats have had control of the state legislatures in the 60's-80's. They gerrymandered the congressional districts so blacks would have the majority of the people in those districts, so the white democrats gave the blacks their own districts. No more then the white democrats deemed appropriate. The democrats put in the system of welfare and foodstamps to keep the blacks on the democratic plantation. The amazing thing here is that JFO thinks republicans are racist when in fact, the liberal left sees color in everything. Now on first blush you would be amazed at the comment of JFO, but those that know his comments are not surprised. He always brings a knife to a gun fight. ww

Willie - so your view of black people is that they are ignorant, unable to think for themselves, mindlessly follow the agendas set for them by democrats, have no ability to choose for themselves, or critically think, or make judgments about whose agenda they favor. Now you can duck and weave and deny and pretend outrage, but that's what you just put out. An uninterested observer would most likley call that racist.

You, my wingnutter, always bring a pea shooter to any kind of fight.

Keep it up, JFO. You look dumber and dumber (if that's even possible for you) with each idiotic comment you make. Keep twisting reality into your perception of the world. We're laughing at your inferior "intellect".

Well, if you read the post and the rest of the comments, there's nothing more to add that hasn't been said already.

"Truth hurts a lot sometime doesn't it?"

Judging from your responses, I'd say the truth is hurting you a lot.

Hey, you who rationalizes 4000 dead by saying , in essence, oh well it's not as bad as other wars, you have the nerve to challenge someone's intellect?

Don't even think about challenging anyone's intellect with a piece of gargabe argument like your 4000 dead is no big deal arguement.

And if you had any semblence of an "intellect" you'd challenge willie and his blacks are inferior comment. But you don't have that or any balls either.

"Don't even think about ... (Below threshold)

"Don't even think about challenging anyone's intellect with a piece of gargabe (sic) argument like your 4000 dead is no big deal arguement (sic)."

LOL! I see I was right on the mark with my commentary about your "intellect". Anyone with half a brain reading that post at my blog would never conclude that I said 4000 dead was "no big deal". You made that up, and it's par for the course for you:

"And if you had any semblence of an "intellect" you'd challenge willie and his blacks are inferior comment."

Willie never said blacks are inferior. You invented that, too.

I'd say you need to take a reading comprehension course, but obviously, you wouldn't be able to complete the class. Now then, I'm not wasting any more of my time with someone who tries so hard to be stupid. You're too good at it, and I'm going to follow this advice: "Never get into an argument with an idiot. He'll drag you down to his level and beat you with experience."

You end by usuing the old lawyer trick.

First, argue the facts. When that doesn't work, argue the law. When neither works pound the table the loudest. (In your case you yell that you're smarter).

No surprise you'd skulk away as does the little boy in the schoolyard when he's overwhelmed.

Your words speak for themselves as do willies. You're a ratioanlizer of a tragedy and he's obviously views hismself as superior to black people.

You can run from the truth but wingnuts can't hide from it.

"You can run from the truth but wingnuts can't hide from it."

I'll be sure to tell that to my black Republican friends; they'll get a kick out of it; as they always do.

How do you know I'm not black? Or a member of any other minority group? Hmmmmmmmm...?

Skulking away? Hardly. I'm walking away laughing my head off at you. You've definitely provided some great entertainment today, though, so feel good about that.

Oh yes, the old I have a few black friends canard. My guess is Willie would make the same claim.

I could care less if you're white, black, red, yellow or green; male, female; gay or straight. What I do know is that you'd get a lot more acceptance and a lot more support from democrats than republicans if you were.

Republicans, the part of the "Big Tent", the one that holds millions of white, middle-aged men and women and not a lot more. The "tent" that had white, middle-aged men running for your nomination and not another color or gender or age for that matter.

Uncle Will says that the Lord made a White man from dust, a nigger from mud, then He threw up what was left and it came down a Chinaman. He does hate Chinese and Japs. So do I. "There's some people who've gone over the state and said, 'Well, George Wallace has talked too strong about segregation.' Now let me ask you this: how in the name of common sense can you be too strong about it? You're either for it or you're against it. There's not any middle ground as I know of."
