Weekend Caption Contest™ Winners

This week's Weekend Caption Contest™ was another monster hit with over 200 entries. That many entries makes for some very hard judging. Congratulation to retired military for the rare double win with two different captions. The assignment this week was to caption the following newsworthy picture:

U.S. President Barack Obama (C) and France's President Nicolas Sarkozy (R) take their places with junior G8 delegates for a family photo at the G8 summit in L'Aquila, Italy, July 9, 2009. Leaders of the Group of Eight major industrial nations and the main developing economies are meeting in the central Italian city of L'Aquila until Friday to discuss issues ranging from global economic stimulus to climate change and oil prices. Here are the winning entries:

1) (retired military) - "Obama tries to imitate the first black president."

2) (Mabeldog) - "Hey, baby! Once you go 1/16th black, you never go back!"

3) (Jeff) - "President Barack Obama is struck by a shot from the assy knoll"

4) (hpb) - "Obama considers Stimulus 2.0"

5) (Gmac) - "Damn, that's going to cost me another trip out to eat somewhere exotic."

6) (Jeff Blogworthy) - "That puts a twinge in my surrender monkey."

The Readers Choice Award this week goes to:

(retired military) - "Obama leans to the right for the first time since he was elected President."

That's all for this weekend. A new edition of the Wizbang Weekend Caption Contest™ will debut Friday morning.

I've seen enough of this picture. Right now I'm concerned about what Republicans in the Senate think about Sotomayor's liberal tush on the bench of the SCOTUS!

As though there is any choice? I'd say "resignation" about sums it up. The best they can do is point out the philosophical differences that make her a deficient justice. I think they have done that. Then sit back and wait for the carnage.
