Is Warner/ Chappell Music, Inc. Anti-Semitic?

I won't call Warner/ Chappell Music, Inc Anti-Semitic. I'll let their actions help you decide.

Via Caroline Glick we learn that Youtube pulled a parody about the recent Gaza Fauxtilla over supposed copyright claims by Warner/ Chappell Music, Inc..

As Israel went offline for the Jewish sabbath, YouTube removed most versions of Latma's hit parody song We Con the World. If you try to access the song on YouTube you receive the notification:

This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Warner/ Chappell Music, Inc. .

Copyright experts we advised with before posting the song told us in no uncertain terms that we were within our rights to use the song because we did so in accordance with the Fair Use Doctrine. The Fair Use Doctrine, copied and pasted below from the US Copyright Office stipulates that it is legal and permissible to use copyrighted material under the fair use doctrine for purposes of parody.

Copyright attorneys also warned us that given our clearly lawful use of the song We are the World, if anyone wished to silence our voices, they wouldn't target us. Instead they would target YouTube. It is YouTube's standard practice to remove any material that they receive even the flimsiest threat for because the company wishes to avoid all litigation.

Warner/ Chappell Music Inc. is free to debate (and lose) the argument on Fair Use. What's below however is a bit harder for them to argue:.

Mind you I got bored and stopped linking but there are hundreds of similar parodies that Warner/ Chappell Music, Inc has never bothered with. They only went after the one that attempted to get the truth out about the Gaza Fauxtilla.

Is Warner/ Chappell Music, Inc. Anti-Semitic? Anti-Israel? Pro-terrorist? I can't answer those questions.

All I do know is that Warner/ Chappell Music, Inc looks like they targeted one minority group based on their religion. And I would not think Warner/ Chappell Music, Inc would want their name associated with that.

So I can't say if Warner/ Chappell Music, Inc is Anti-Semitic. But if their actions don't convince you one way or the other, I'd suggest you ask them yourself.

I researched this claim and found that Warner has a serious hard on for Face Book and has as a company directive gone after Face Book in every instance that they play a warner owned song.

Without knowing their motivation I would say that at the very least they are being anti-Semitic in the expectation that being so is both socially and politically acceptable. They anticipate that any flak they catch will be spun as their being brave to stand up to the world Zionist conspiracy.

In short their Antisemitism is the Antisemitism of he collaborator, done out of convenience not of conviction. I'm not sure which is more despicable.

Or they are afraid that CAIR and their violent buddies will be too stupid to realize that they had nothing to do with the video. Too many in the arts love to shock and offend people that won't respond violently, but bend over with a smile for someone that will.

As noted on Paul's links, you can see the vid on Metacafe OR still on you-T with HEBREW subtitles - still sung in English!
