There's an odor emanating from the Obama Car Dealer closures

William Tate at American Thinker has news that won't surprise the thinking person:

The Obama administration, already under fire for unprecedented allegations of racial bias, faces a new bias claim from a most unlikely source: one of the administration's own inspectors general.

Decisions on which car dealerships to close as part of the auto industry bailout -- closures the Obama administration forced on General Motors and Chrysler -- were based in part on race and gender, according to a report by Troubled Asset Relief Program Special Inspector General Neal M. Barofsky.

Dealerships were retained because they were recently appointed, were key wholesale parts dealers, or were minority- or woman-owned dealerships.

Thus, to meet numbers forced on them by the Obama administration, General Motors and Chrysler were forced to shutter other, potentially more viable, dealerships. The livelihood of potentially tens of thousands of families was thus eliminated simply because their dealerships were not minority- or woman-owned.

As has been widely reported, the Inspector General's study skewered the Obama Gang for strong-arming the companies into closing 2,000 dealerships, costing an estimated 100,000 people their jobs during a recession.

But the news media has ignored key elements of Barofsky's report -- elements that are far more damaging, if possible, to Obama. As we reported earlier in the week, a top Obama official, manufacturing czar and "Auto Team" leader Ron Bloom admitted that the dealerships could have been kept open, saving those jobs, "but that doing so would have been inconsistent with the President's mandate for 'shared sacrifice.'"

Barofsky says the administration insisted on the closings even though a GM official told him

that GM would usually save 'not one damn cent' by closing any particular dealership. ... Furthermore, a GM official stated that removing a dealership from the network does not save money for GM -- it might even cost GM money -- and that savings cannot be attributed or assigned to any one dealership.

And a reading of the IG's study makes plain that some dealership closings forced by the administration were based largely on politics.

It would behoove us all to read the entire piece.

The more we find out about Obama and his minions and their decisions and policies, the more we're seeing that America has been duped.  Rather than ushering in a new era of cooperation and unity, these thugs have ushered in a new era of division and rancor.

Hope and change my rear-end.

I hate when Obama uses the term "shared sacrifice" because he doesn't want to say fascism. I pray every day that more and more Americans will awaken to what this man really intends for our future.

The problem with Social Justice is it requires looking at race, gender and sexual orientation to right wrong caused by others looking at those things.

Increasingly we are seeing codification of discrimination by the federal government. TARP, The Fecal Matter reform act and I am sure health carp has it own nuggets.

Merit is being replaced by privilege of birth.
THis will end badly.

There's an odor all right and it ain't new car smell.

This was always about dividing the spoils of winning the Presidency and never for a moment about anything else. From that point on it doesn't matter what basis is used for choosing which dealers stay open and which close. It can be racist or fascist or whatever, it's all unfair.

And where is the lames stream media reporting this information? MIA, again.

We have dealt with too many crisis, emergency, fast decisions by this administration. They know their Alinsky playbook. Overwhelm the opposition. Who has time to look all the way back to the GM dealership mess when there are new messes to ignore?

Too bad the American Thinker piece is false and deliberately playing its readers for suckers, as you would have figured out if you'd bothered to read the SIGTARP report for yourself. The following post exposes the deception:

In May 2009, Nate Silver of FiveThirtyEight also did an in-depth analysis of the Car Dealers, those that both were/were not closed, giving charts and statistics to illustrate & authenticate his findings..."A meme that is currently picking up traction in the conservative blogosphere is that the list of dealerships to be shuttered as a result of Chrysler's bankruptcy contains a disproportionate number donors to Republican candidates.

There is just one problem with this theory. Nobody has bothered to look up data for the control group: the list of dealerships which aren't being closed. It turns out that all car dealers are, in fact, overwhelmingly more likely to donate to Republicans than to Democrats -- not just those who are having their doors closed"
FiveThirtyEight: Politics Done Right: News Flash: Car Dealers are Republicans (It's Called a Control Group, People)

This week a video of a black woman who works at USFDA, Ms. Sherrod, was released by RW Andrew Breitbart on his blog & all over Fox News, resulting in the woman getting fired then rehired - point being, the video had been maliciously edited to make her look racist & make it seem she'd discriminated against the white farmer in distress & not helped him, because of his color. The actual white farmer in question, and his wife, came forward on CNN to tell the world that this was a lie because Ms Sherrod had been fantastic to them & saved them & their farm from bankruptcy!!

Should also be noted - editing a video to falsely defame a person & releasing it on WWW is a cyber crime - I hope Andrew Breitbart is indicted. American voters have a right to the truth, not malicious distortions of the truth. A political party should win favor on its own merits, not by falsely discrediting its opponents.
City Brights: Zennie Abraham : Andrew Breitbart defamed Shirley Sherrod; Brietbart could be in trouble

The only odor emanating from this is the stench of RW trickery
