Theme Song for 2010

It used to be that when I thought of 2010, the first thing that popped into my mind was HAL 9000, the Black Monolith, Dave Bowman, and the Blue Danube as theme song.

Ok, ok, the Blue Danube is from 2001: A Space Odyssey but let’s not get too technical.

Now, though, 2010 means something altogether different for me. I suspect that for many readers of this blog it is the same.

2010 gives Hope.

Hope for Change.

A 1994-style takeover-of-the-House type change.

This (dare we call it a revolution?) that will take place in 2010 needs a theme song to pump up the troops.

Here’s my suggestion: Uprising (by Muse).

You can take a listen here.

My favorite portion of the song:

You know that their time’s coming to an end,
We have to unify, and watch our flag ascend

They will not force us,
They will stop degrading us,
They will not control us,
We will be victorious

Do you have a better song for the cause?

Please suggest your own in the comments!

Corny? Maybe.

But at least we aren’t forcing school kids to sing worshipful hymns to Dear Leader.
