ABC affiliate WZZM13 in Michigan brings us news about Michigan’s latest entry in the contest to win the Darwin Award.

NUNICA, Mich. (WZZM) — Police in Ottawa County are looking for the driver who hit a Muskegon man Saturday night. The accident happened shortly before 8:30 p.m. on Main near Cass in Nunica.

Investigators say Jeffrey Stiles, 45, of Muskegon was attending a Halloween party and decided to step outside to try and scare drivers with his zombie costume. While in the road, he was hit by a car. The driver of the car did not stop and was last seen going north on Main.

Deputies say Stiles was in the traffic lane at the time. He was taken to a Grand Rapids hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

As to be expected, the comments section to the above news report has been …err… lively.

Perhaps the best comment posted (IMHO) pertains to the man dressed like a zombie: “Looks like he really did need brains.”

Either that, or Nunica, Michigan needs road signs that look like this:
