Less than a month before the Iowa and New Hampshire primaries Bill and Hillary Clinton are scheduled to appear in court as defendants in a RICO lawsuit being brought by Larry Klayman of FreedomWatch.
Klayman has been a thorn in the Clintons’ side for 20 years and this time he’s really stirring up atornado.
The suit alleges Clinton, while secretary of state, used her position to influence foreign donors supporting the Clinton Foundation. It also accuses Clinton’s former chief of staff Cheryl Mills of lying about the existence of documents Klayman requested under the Freedom of Information Act.
The crux of the suit revolves around Clinton’s use of a private email account and server to conduct government business.
Klayman is asking the court to take possession of Hillary’s home-brew email server that she used as Secretary of State.
Judge Donald Middlebrooks set the trial date for January 20. The Iowa Caucus is Feb 1 and the New Hampshire primary is February 9.
Needless to say the Clintons’ team of high priced legal talent will be billing overtme trying get this case dismissed.
The interesting facet for now is whether the judge will order the Clintons to turn over the email server. If he does, and it’s blank, then what happens?
Pass the popcorn please.
