FBI Fires Peter Strzok, Who Sent Anti-Trump Text Messages

The agent said his views of Trump never affected his official actions

By Del Quentin Wilber and Sadie Gurman | the Wall Street Journal

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has fired agent Peter Strzok, whose anti- Donald Trump text messages landed him in the middle of a Washington firestorm over two politically charged investigations.

His attorney, Aitan Goelman, said Mr. Strzok was fired Friday. The FBI declined to comment.

Mr. Strzok was the lead agent on the FBI probe into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server as secretary of state. He later served as the lead agent in the early days of special counsel Robert Mueller’s inquiry into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Mister Strozk’s attorney also alleges that the firing was irregular:

Late Friday afternoon, the Deputy Director of the FBI overruled the FBI’s Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) and departed from established precedent by firing 21-year FBI veteran Peter Strzok.

When do the prosecutions begin?

The Washington comPost has the Strzok/Deep State version of events.
